OPI Joins Mariah Carey to Launch 18 New Limited Edition Holiday Nail Lacquers
OPI announces the launch of 18 new limited edition holiday nail lacquers inspired by recording artist and international superstar Mariah Carey. This seasonal promotion includes an assortment of red, burgundy, maroon and chocolate brown hues, along with glitter-packed gold, bronze and pearl shades.
Mariah Carey Holiday also features six new Liquid Sand™ lacquers, ranging from icy blue to frosted pink to sparkling graphite. Each of the Liquid Sand shades showcases OPI’s groundbreaking technology for a textured, matte finish infused with reflective sparkle.
“Mariah Carey is truly synonomous with the holiday season,” says Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, OPI Executive VP & Artistic Director. “People around the world listen to her festive, iconic songs – ‘All I Want for Christmas is You’ is a personal favorite – and these 18 lacquers evoke the warmth, beauty, energy and positive spirit that’s present in Mariah’s music.
“This holiday season is all about red, glitter and texture for nails,” adds Weiss-Fischmann. “With 18 shades, there’s a perfect hue for every occasion. The 12 crème and glitter lacquers include classic reds, champagne gold, and warm burgundies, while the six Liquid Sand shades should be worn without top coat for a matte finish in icy, frosted colors.”

I can't wait to see swatches of some of these! Visions of Love and Emotions might have to be mine no matter what they look like, since they're my favorite Mariah Carey songs. :-)
ReplyDeleteThe collection looks rather disappointing. I'll have to wait and see swatches, but I find these a bit dull.
ReplyDeleteHoly crap, 18 polishes is ridiculously huge for a holiday collection.... Or any collection, for that matter! but some of those liquid sands look pretty awesome.
ReplyDeleteCute Little Vixen and I Snow You Love Me look the most intriguing to me.
ReplyDeleteWarm me up looks promising..the others I will pass on
ReplyDeleteIn my santa suit, It's frosty outside and Make him mine are the ones I'm curious about :)
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to see swatches! :D
ReplyDeleteI think all I need is I Snow You Love Me. The rest of the collection.... eh?
ReplyDeleteI like that spiced coffee color, but the burgundies/reds seem fairly predictable and YAWN-ish.
ReplyDeleteWay too many reds. I was expecting something different. Definitely like the first MC set way better. I only see about 3 polishes in this set that look interesting enough to take a second look. If the swatches look nice enough I'll get them.
ReplyDeleteOhhh, they look nice! Some not so unique, but I'm liking the Liquid Sand selection.
ReplyDeleteHmm, pretty nice I think. Some not so original, but I'm liking the liquid sand selection :)
ReplyDeleteToo many reds, although there are some pretty colors overall.
ReplyDeleteSome of these caught my attention, so good enough for now. I'll wait to see swatches of course, but I have a feeling I'll wind up with something from this one.
ReplyDelete18 polishes for a HOLIDAY collection and not one green polish? :( Yet they have a ton of reds... sign. Hopefully the other polish companies will come through for us green polish fans.
ReplyDeleteNot one green!
DeleteWhat do you know about the mini´s? I cand find pictures with both 3 and 4 polishes in a pack, and aparently there are 3 different packs to this collection?
ReplyDeleteAlso, what about the topcoat that was supposed to be in this collection, that was like TMWTGG?
I did find a few other blogpost about this, but I only trust yyou!! :)
I haven't heard anything about them yet! I'll ask and see if I can get some pics!
DeleteI saw the OPI Mariah Carey Pure 18K White Gold & Silver Top Coat on two different e-tailers for $40! I know I won't be getting that but I'd love to see it in action.
DeleteThe plain ones look very blah & rehashed versions of other colours but I've become a liquid sand fiend, I can't wait to see swatches of these ones!
ReplyDeleteThis looks like the most boring holiday collection that I've seen in years. And the quote “Mariah Carey is truly synonomous with the holiday season” made me laugh. I know that when I think think of the holidays the first thing that comes to mind is Mariah, not food, friends and family.
ReplyDeleteThis collection does seem quite different from all the glitters and bright colors that come out during the holiday season. It does seem a bit boring but it seems like a different take on winter - this reminds me of hot chocolate and fireplaces! I'm waiting to see swatches of Cute Little Vixen - the glitter in that dark base looks promising.
ReplyDeleteCute Little Vixen, I Snow You Love Me, Baby Please Come Home and Kiss Me At Midnight are the ones I want. I may want more when I see swatches.
ReplyDeleteThese all look pretty promising and are getting me excited for the upcoming holiday season! Hopefully you'll get the chance to swatch some of these but I can already tell I'm going to love some of the glitters, especially Wonderous Star and My Favorite Ornament!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely see a few purchases there! :) x
ReplyDeleteWonderous Star and I Snow You Love Me look very fun
ReplyDeleteI've never tried a liquid sand before but It’s Frosty Outside looks like it would be a fun one to try.
I can't wait for these, especially three of the textures!
ReplyDeleteI think OPI hve mixed up the pictures of the reds. It seems to me 3 of the pictures show the same polish o.O.
ReplyDeleteOther than that, I'm looking forward to seeing swatches of these! Will probably skip most of the reds, but I Snow You Love Me and Warm Me Up are definitely going on my wishlist.
All of the bright reds ARE the same picture. I opened them in separate tabs and switched between them and there's absolutely no change. Maybe there isn't 18 different polishes here, but they couldn't decide between 3 names for some of them.
DeleteAlso, there's no way the one listed as Underneath the Mistletoe could be described as "candy apple red", no matter how far you stretch the words. Pretty sure that they mixed it up with Sleigh Ride for Two, which could not be described as chocolatey.

ReplyDeleteAfter paddling through the pictures for like 20 times...I still can not find the wow-factor! Perhaps seeing the swatches will change that?? I just think this collection misses an oddball, a funcky green, a happy glittermix, a special effect. It's just all too goody-goody and matchy-matchy for me I guess >sigh, I'm spoiled<
ReplyDeleteI just looked closely at these pictures and I've never looked enough at OPI pics to realize just how photoshopped these pictures are. :-| You'd think they could afford actual pictures of actual bottles. Every one is the same bottle, just different colors. And it's not even realistic shopping. None of the words curve the way they should on a round surface.
ReplyDeleteBetween that and the silly selection in this collection I'm seriously side-eyeing OPI right now.
