What I liked:
- The packaging matches the color of the product inside! I love that. The packaging also has a really pretty design.
- The blush is pigmented and long lasting.
- Easy to blend.
- Minimal shimmer (shimmer blushes don't always work on my skin).
- The colors oxidize after a very short while on my skin. They're also not true to pan color when applied.
- The pans are magnetic (you can remove them to put them in your own palette), but mine are all loose and they spin and rattle.
I love how Blushing bride looks. Too bad it oxidizes :(
ReplyDeleteGreat review, Scrangie! I have one of these and love it! I'm sorry that they sit loose in the packaging, I've never heard of that happening :(
ReplyDeleteI like the Amazonian one the best, too! The swatches came out really well. Do they carry these at Sephora, do you know?
ReplyDeleteI love your blog, by the way! I'm now your newest follower on greader. I look forward to reading more of your upcoming posts!
They do carry them at Sephora. I got "Splendor" in their "In the Glow" sampler set - full of bronzers and blushes. Nice set to try out different brands if you're in the market for some blushes or bronzers. Decent sizes too --- I never run out of blush!
DeleteCan you elaborate on what you mean when you say they oxidize? How does that affect the color and staying power? Sorry if it's a dumb question, I'm still new to this :)

ReplyDeleteThese in particular don't oxidize on me--but when blush oxidizes on ME, it changes color. Like, right after application, it'll be one color. Then some time later, you'll notice it's a different color.
DeleteScrangie, these don't shake or rattle on me but the packaging definitely does not help absorb shock when dropped like NARS rubberized packaging or even cardboard packaging. Also, the blushes are super soft--so these are prone to breakage too (I learned this all the hard way)
I'm really liking the minimal shimmer part but not the ozidising, I already have trouble with foundations changing colour on my skin. I find blush difficult because my skin is pale and it looks so false, although it could be my technique! Great swatches as always, I'm looking forward to the nail ones too.
ReplyDeleteTHE SCRANGE! I HAVE MISSED YOU!
ReplyDeleteI like the fact that the packaging is the color of the product. That way you're not digging thru makeup stash for a certain color.
ReplyDeleteI'm absolutely obsessed with Blushing Bride. I haven't worn another blush for the past month.
ReplyDeleteI really wish Tarte didn't align themselves with PETA, because they have so many appealing products. I really love the dual-sided e/s brush I bought from them back before they ruined it for me, and will be in a bad sort when it finally wears out.
ReplyDeleteThese are pretty colours, and the packaging is simple, but elegant. There are just enough details to keep it interesting!
ReplyDeleteThanks for taking the time to review and swatch these. I love coming to your blog for eye candy! :D
