I have so many super old eye-of-the-day pictures I've never posted, so I figured I'd do a little eyeshadow spam to follow up my nail spam to help clear out my unposted pictures folder a little more! Some of these are so old that I don't even remember which eyeshadows I used. A lot of them are really terrible, but... I took pictures, I may as well post them. XD
This one was created using the Kat von D Candelabra palette and Illamasqua Havoc liner
This was Midnight 15 and Deep End from the Urban Decay 15 Anniversary palette and Urban Decay 24/7 Liquid liner in Woodstock. Definitely a fail look. Frosty highlight + flash = KILL IT WITH FIRE!!
This was with the Kat von D Mi Vida Loca palette and a Wet n Wild liquid liner. Another fail. Turned out really crappy. The shadows were so sheer that I had to layer them a million times and then try applying my crease color wet because the color wouldn't show up. That palette was a huge disappointment but at least the Wet n Wild liner didn't let me down.
I have no clue what I used here.
Same goes for this one. I do remember using MAC Reflects Red glitter and Make Up For Ever 92 on the brows.
The only thing I remember from this look is Urban Decay 24/7 in Junkie as liner.
This one I liked. I don't remember what the copper shadow was, but the crease color is Stila Twig, and the glitter is Make Up For Ever Diamond Powder #2. Sugarpill Asylum on brows.
This was Sugarpill Hysteric on the lid, some sparkly black in the crease (probably Hourglass) and Eyeko Skinny Brush mascara (which is why my lashes are clumped together into spikes).
This one I remember- it's my favorite LORAC trio with MAC Reflects Pearl glitteron top. Sloppy liquid liner.
I used Bare Escentuals in Mystery here. LOVE that shadow.
Oh man, this is so terrible. It was the first time I used my new Make Up For Ever Aqua Liner in 10 (the red one!). Wasn't as good as I'd hoped, it needed three layers and that made it come out chunky.
I feel like I should really remember this one. It's probably the Kryolan UV pressed powder palette over a white base. NYX liquid liner?
Gold and black with blue liner. I don't remember what the shadows were but the liner is probably Urban Decay 24/7 Liquid Liner in Sabbath. I thought it made my eyes look pretty.
Don't remember this at all. The liner looks like Stila Stay All Day Liquid Liner in Indigo.
Another one I don't remember.
Wet n Wild Blue Had Me At Hello palette, some sort of glitter (MAC Reflects Teal?) and Stila liquid liner. Sloppy, but my lashes looked really long. Wish I could remember what mascara I used!
This was going to be part of my Lash Blast Luxe review, but I finished the tube of mascara before I finished taking pictures for a review. Plus, overplucked brows! Oops! That last picture shows the blue sparkles in the mascara. The shadows are the Wet n Wild Blue Had Me At Hello palette with Bare Escentuals Seashell over everything, applied extra heavily in the inner and outer corners.
Another one from my unfinished Lash Blast Luxe review. See the blue sparkles in my lashes?
Green and green with green. I think this was a Wet n Wild palette, but the liner was definitely Stila Stay All Day Liquid Liner in Moss. Highlight color was way too frosty, but I don't remember what it was. Another color combination that I thought looked pretty on my eyes.
I really love the EOTDs with colored brows, especially the purple
ReplyDeleteI thought I was going to be the weirdo who just said "Yay all the colored brows ones!" but I guess it's not that weird an opinion as someone else already said it. They are all amazing, though. Even your least favorite ones really aren't anywhere close to bad.
ReplyDeleteFifth from the bottom looks like something from Stila's In the Garden palette. You have beautiful eyes. I think I might possibly like eye spam better than nail spam. :)
ReplyDeleteOk, where are the actual fails? Your eyes are gorgeous by the way...
ReplyDeleteGorgeous!

ReplyDeleteI absolutely love your eye looks. They're never run-of-the-mill and I particularly appreciate the liner color choices in each look.
ReplyDeleteLove the EOTD's. I need to learn how to apply makeup. I have no idea how to do this but they all look gorgeous. Also I love your brow shap!
ReplyDeletescrangie, i always LOVE your eye looks, even the ones you say are terrible. i have a question for you: do you go out in public with the colored brows? i think it looks SO COOL! do you have any recommendations/tips for doing it? i recently went from being naturally blonde to brunette, and i feel like i might be able to be a little adventurous with my brows, but i don't know if anyone would notice! plus i work in finance, so this would probably have to be a weekend thing. anyway, colored brows! i'd love to hear about how you do it and if you rock it in public. ;)
ReplyDeleteOh yes, I definitely do go out in public with colored brows! I'm not someone who minds getting strange looks, but I have to say that I've actually received nothing but compliments when I do it!
DeleteOne thing I've found is that when you're working with a shadow that has a lot of fallout (like Sugarpill Asylum), wet your brow brush before applying the color. It reduces the fallout to almost nothing, especially if you make a paste with the shadow.
And when I wear a color that I've had to layer on a lot to cover my dark brow hairs, I always seal it with brow gel to prevent any further flaking/fallout.
If you want to experiment, I'd recommend starting out using one of the colors you've used in your eye look for your brow color. Like, if I've used a dark green shadow in my crease, I'll fill in my brows with the same dark green shadow. It's subtle but still fun. And use a brush with short bristles! The longer slant brow brushes don't give me as much control.
thanks for the quick reply! such helpful info.
DeleteOh man, after seeing the Bare Escentuals shadow in Mystery, I immediately purchased it on Ebay. It's what MAC's Shale should be! So pretty!
ReplyDeleteYou're clearly talented at blending eyeshadow woman! All your looks are stunning! :)
i agree, mystery looks awesome.
Deletei do have another question about your blending...it's always so flawless and looks like such a nice gradient! yet you don't seem to use a 'background singer' color like MAC soft brown or something to help things blend out. how exactly do you do it? what brush do you use?
thanks for putting up with my questions. :)
Adding some of these to my makeup inspiration folder. I especially LOVE the coppery one, it looks so rich and beautiful!
ReplyDeleteOk, my makeup routine is ridiculously simple (foundation, blush, powder, mascara, occasionally eyeliner), but these gorgeous photos make me want to go NUTS! I am such a spazz when it comes to eye makeup, which is why I tend to keep it simple. I am super jealous of your perfect eyeliner "swoop," I think I'm going to have to go home and try to copy some of your looks. Any advice for a spastic eyeshadow/eyeliner user?
ReplyDeleteTons of cool looks. The one with Mystery is my favorite. I want your eyebrows!! :-p
ReplyDeleteYour eyes look so gorgeous <3 jealous!
ReplyDeleteAmazing! Love the brightly coloured ones most, plus you have beautiful eyebrows :) x
ReplyDeleteStunning, all of it! And I, too, am in awe of your blending skills...would you mind sharing some tips?
ReplyDeleteI'm so jealous that you can pull off colored brows... I just look like a moron when I attempt to fill my brows with an actual brow color... And all your eye looks are great. :D
ReplyDeleteWill you please post an eyeshadow tutorial? Your EOTD looks are just fantastic! And what do you do to your brows? You have my dream brows!
ReplyDeleteWill you please post an eye shadow tutorial? And brows too, because you have the best brows!
ReplyDeleteI loved the spam! I need to look into Bare Minerals Mystery! I really loved the gold and blue look too!
ReplyDeletePlease Scrangie, on the gods of your favourite video games, PLEASE post more EOTD! I love looking at how you do them and trying to adapt them to suit me. It doesn't even matter if you don't know what you used because we can all just use what we have. You have such a talent with makeup, I think 44 is too old for me to colour my brows in wild colours but you've inspired me to try something else. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteMy favorites were actually the two you especially liked too! They do make your eyes look so sexy
ReplyDeleteOkay, all of these eye looks and we've never seen your whole face! You remain a mystery, Scrangie!
ReplyDeleteThe warm-toned greens really suit you. Also, the neon green in that Kryolan palette is sooooooooo pretty.
ReplyDelete(Also, this is a peculiar coincidence - less than five minutes ago, I was tooling around in my makeup box thinking "I need to actually use some of these eyeshadows and glitter liners even if I am too lazy to do a full face. I have a basically untouched UD BoS Vol. II and Urban Ammo palette and three glitter liners. D:)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful looks, if you have a youtube account to do makeup tutorials, I'd love to watch the process! :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful looks, if you have a youtube account to do makeup tutorials, I'd love to watch the process! :)
ReplyDeleteVery cool looks!
ReplyDeleteLove a lot of your eye of the day! You've got talent, I can't wait to try colored eyebrows :)
ReplyDeleteAll are amazing esp. the purple and copper one :D
ReplyDeleteEvery time I thought I'd figured out which was my favorite, I scrolled down further and saw another one I loved! So cool.
ReplyDeletelove all of these!
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful! I wish I had half your talent!
ReplyDeleteDamn, is there a color that looks bad on you? Haven't seen one yet. I too envy your blending skills, although I am much too old (dammit) to go so colorful, I can dream. I too scurried over to Ebay and picked up Mystery. It should work well with my pale skin and gray eyes. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteWhat makeup brushes do you use? I'm in the market for some good eye brushes.
ReplyDeletepurple eyebrows just...no.
ReplyDeleteI would also love to know what make up brushes you use. Your eyes are really beautifully!
ReplyDeleteI know it sounds boring, but I love them all and I just wanted to let you know this.
ReplyDeleteBTW, if only I could be able to use my eyeliner.......... :)
I don't care if you can't remember everything of what you used, most of those eye make-ups are awesome! There were only two I didn't like so much, but the rest was just really lovely. Your photos (eye make-ups and nail polish) often lighten my mood :)
ReplyDeleteAnd then they lighten my purse *g* the number of nail polishes I bought based on your reviews and photos I can't count anymore ^^
You have great eyes for makeup...I used to and now in a matter of 2 months and 1 month of my next birthday - my upper lid has come down over my lip - so major hooded lids now - and hating it...but I am not going under the knife. Last few months before this I found no longer could wing out my liner as had done - it was not working due to the drop in the upper eye lid. Hating my eyes now.
ReplyDeleteYou've probably heard this a billion times, but you have gorgeous eyes, and your application skills are flawless! Even the looks you don't love were perfectly applied!
ReplyDeleteAgree with others, PLEASE consider an eye tutorial! The other day I feverishly searched your blog for one to no avail. There are other tutorials yea, but I have yet to find one that matches your talent!! Perfect blending, perfect liner- help a girl out!! :)
ReplyDeleteScrangie, I know I've told you before about how I have a girl crush on you...hehe. ;) Well, you have stunning eyes, and you're amazingly talented at applying and blending shadows to accentuate them even more. My girl crush is growing! ;) Hehe!
ReplyDeleteYou always come up with the coolest colour combinations, your blending is perfect, and I really enjoyed seeing you use colour on your eyebrows. I couldn't wear colour on my eyebrows, but I'm enjoying it vicariously through you. BEAUTIFUL!
Please, could you do a tutorial? I would love to learn from your technique.
