I found some cool new fall nail stuff while out shopping this week. I noticed that a lot of the Halloween things are the same as last year's (like the Blue Cross pumpkins and mini polishes and a lot of the Wet n Wild Fantasy Makers stuff), but there were a few new ones.
12487 Nail In The Coffin (black with silver and orange microglitter)
12488 Rest in Pieces (black with purple microglitter)
12489 Once Upon A Time (black with small red glitter and medium red microglitter. Possible Lippmann Ruby Red Slippers dupe.)
Revlon Halloween 2012 Nail Collection:
Black Magic (black creme)
Haunted Heart (orange with gold shimmer)
Spooky Skull (white jelly/creme)
Wicked Star (blue-green base with yellow-green duochrome shimmer)
Revlon Halloween nail art stencils in Mustaches, Spiders and Skulls.
There were a few other stencil designs, but I don't remember all of them.
Sally Hansen Lustre Shine Nail Color Collection for Fall 2012
The entire Lustre Shine collection is duochrome/multichrome. Brings back memories of my beloved Sally Hansen Nail Prisms! There were a few other colors that I didn't grab because they were dupes of other colors that came out already this year, but I'll probably grab the rest when they go on sale. But I had to have these:
003 Firefly (mave-bronze-green-gold multichrome)
006 Lava (pink-magenta-bronze-orange glass fleck multichrome)
008 Copperhead (bronze-gold-green-purple-blue multichrome)
NYC In A New York Color Minute Quick Dry Nail Polish in Python Green.
This was on a new Fall 2012 collection display along with a purple polish that didn't look very interesting and a couple of lipglosses, shadow palettes and eyeliners. This color was the only thing that caught my eye; it's a golden olive green with a slightly smoky-looking base and a subtle duochrome shift.
Oh man! I want that Revlon WHITE JELLY YUM and I've never really liked NYC polishes but my jaw may have dropped a little at that bottle shot. Gimme. I think the WNW Once Upon a Time might be a dupe of Spoiled Ants In My Pants - that's what it looked like to me when I saw it at Ulta the other day!
ReplyDeleteYeah, I don't really care for NYC polishes, either (so watery!), but that green... oh man. So pretty.
DeleteAwesome! Will there be swatches soon? :D
ReplyDeleteHopefully! I am waaaaay behind on swatching, but I'm trying to catch up :D
DeleteJealous of you girls in the US right now! The UK releases have been terrible so far! :(
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see your swatches of the lusterchromes!! I hope they are up to the quality of the old awesome nail prisms I still love so much :)
ReplyDeleteI picked up the same Tombstone polishes! Once Upon A Time is a dead on dupe for Spoiled Ants In My Pants, and Rest In Pieces is a dead on dupe for Wet N Wild Night Prowl. Go figure, recycled Wet N Wild Colors. I bought them anyway since I dig the tombstone bottles.
ReplyDeleteI don't think I've seen the Spoiled one (or maybe I have, but I don't remember it!), but it's definitely a dupe of Night Prowl. I think they even released it under a different name last Halloween, too. Oh well, still cool!
DeleteI actually like them better in the tombstone bottles! The Lustre Shines are awesome as well. I've only managed to swatch Lava so far, but it's gorgeous! Going to swatch Moonstone tonight (I think), even though it's not as cool as I had hoped. Firefly is pretty darn cool though! I didn't grab Copperhead since they're pricey and 4 was my limit (I grabbed Scarab because I am a sucker for blue!), but my walgreens is charging $8.99 for these so I'm trying to wait for the rest until they pop up elsewhere or go on sale. I'm sure when you swatch these I'll have to go buy Copperhead anyway.:)
DeletePlease make swatches I really want to see the fantasy makers It sounds like something I would wear the whole year
ReplyDeleteOooh, that NYC polish! Need to check my Meijer for that one. The Fantasy Makers look pretty cool too!
ReplyDeleteI' not a fan of Sally Hansen but these three look tempting!
ReplyDeleteOkay, that's it, I'm getting a US visa. Do you think having better nail polish is a good enough reason? I'm craving anything orange right now.
ReplyDeleteHaha! Well, if you ever come here just for vacation, I'm sure you'll have a whole suitcase of polish to take back with you :)
DeleteBy the way, I saw that you emailed me, I'm really, really behind on emails so I haven't had a chance to reply!
Right as I go on a no-buy, everyone starts releasing the black with orange glitter polishes I've been wanting for years. :p
ReplyDeletePython Green is lovely! Reminds me of my favorite shadow for playing up my green eyes, NYX Golden Bronze.
NYX Golden Bronze, eh? Sounds like something I'd like... I'm going to have to take a look at that color!
DeleteIt's a great color - I have I have some brown spots in the green also, and it really intensifies the green and makes the brown look more golden at the same time. It'd be really pretty with your eyes too!
DeleteIf those NYC polishes usually have NYC-themed names . . . does that mean Python Green is named after the snake that escaped the Bronx Zoo last year?? That's awesome.
ReplyDeleteHaha, I wonder! I didn't even think of that!

ReplyDeleteBy any chance, do you know how the SH Lustre Shine in Lava compares to MAC Bad Fairy? Where did you pick these up?
ReplyDeleteIt looks like it'll be pretty similar, maybe a little lighter? I'll have to find my Bad Fairy and compare them!
DeleteBy any chance, do you know how the SH Lustre Shine in Lava compares to MAC Bad Fairy? Where did you get them?
ReplyDeleteInterested to see how Python Green compares to Butter London Wallis actually.
ReplyDeleteI think Wallis might be chunkier and darker, but they seem like they could be relatively similar!
DeleteHooooo thé Sally Hansen are gorgeous!!
ReplyDeleteWhich store had the Sally Hansens? Thanks!
ReplyDeleteSally Hansens were from Meijer :)
DeleteI noticed that they're also at fred meyers.
DeleteThe NYC display I saw with that green also had a topcoat that looked something like Dior Rock Coat. I grabbed that to play with.
ReplyDeleteAw, I didn't see that one! I wanted Rock Coat but didn't want to spend so much on it!
Deleteoooh fab haulage! I am excited to see you do a review of SH Lava because it looks Bad Fairy-ish to me :)
ReplyDeleteA nice set of eight L'Oreal Project Runway polishes floating around my RiteAid as of yesterday the displays were just being put out, grabbed three wanted them all but...
ReplyDeleteWow, haven't seen that shape of SH bottle anywhere in my city yet.
ReplyDeleteJust curious where you picked up the Fantasy Makers? I have yet to see them any where here :(
ReplyDeleteFound mine at Meijer, though Jewel-Osco also had them on display!
DeleteSo sad! I did not spot any of these! (With the exception of the Sally Hansens since they weren't out yet when I went to go see the Halloween collections.)
ReplyDeleteWow can't wait to see the Lustershine swatches!! I have never seen those before!
ReplyDeleteI found the Fantasy Makers in the Halloween section of my CVS.
ReplyDeleteI would LOVE to see swatches of the Sally Hansen Lustre Shine Nail Color Collection, all of them, but especially "lava".. jumping up and down, can't wait :D :D :D
ReplyDeleteHey there,
ReplyDeleteJust wanted to know where I could find the Fantasy Makers polishes? I'm in Louisiana.
Any drugstore/grocery store that carries Wet n Wild should have them, but if you can't find them yet, they might not be putting them out until closer to October

ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see more of those Sally Hansen Lustre Shines!
ReplyDeleteI love discovering random polishes and pretty things, especially at Halloween and the holidays.
ReplyDeletecan't wait for swatches! esp of the wet n wild and the stencils!
ReplyDeleteI was so close to grabbing some of the Fantasy Makers polishes! Love those little coffins haha
ReplyDeleteOh, I did love the Nail Prisms. And I REALLY am loving this blog.
ReplyDeleteOh yes! I LOVE the Nail Prisms. And I love this blog.
ReplyDeleteThe NYC Python Green is a close cousin look for Butter London's Wallis.
ReplyDeleteWow, white jelly! Im going to have to track that one down. Ive never seen the fantasy makers stuff here in Canada though - unless anyone else knows of a place?
ReplyDeleteWow, white jelly! Im going to have to track that down. Ive never been able to find the fantasy makers here in Canada though, wet n wild yes, but never their seasonal offerings.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to your Lustre Shine swatches and reviews!
ReplyDeleteGrabbed all the Fantasy Makers at Ulta for 1.99 each. They also had China Glaze glow in the dark top coat for $7 at the register! I love Halloween time!!
ReplyDeleteI found the Fantasy Makers line at the local Halloween store! (I'm in Ottawa, Ontario.) I've seen it in the past at Shoppers Drug Mart as well, but haven't checked this year yet. I got the 3 colours Scrangie pictured above as well as
ReplyDelete12490 - Go With The Glow (glow in the dark topcoat)
I've got China Glaze Ghoulish Glow as well, so I'll have to see which one works better.
I don't own Deborah Lippmann Ruby Red Slippers, but looking at swatches, the red in the new Wet n Wild polish is a bit brighter (based on reality, maybe the Lippmann polish doesn't photograph well?) The glitters are a dead ringer though.
ReplyDeletethe fantasy makers with red micro glitter sounds interesting...i'll have to look for that one. i find glitters very difficult to remove though so i usually avoid them. also, that NYC "python green" reminds me of a Maybelline express finish i bought years ago called "khaki fringe", also a beautiful golden-green. great post, and i am loving the affordable prices!
