Random Glitter Layering Manicures

I've been doing a lot of glitter layering lately, so I thought I'd share some of my recent combinations. All of them were pretty random and unplanned (the result of getting bored with a color and grabbing the first glitter that caught my eye) but they turned out well for the most part!

Cirque Debris over Cirque Epoch.

Epoch was definitely not boring, but I couldn't resist trying out Debris on top of it. Loved how it turned out, wore it the entire weekend (and not a hint of tipwear or chipping, I might add).

Barielle Purple Hearts over OPI Every Month Is Oktoberfest.

My Every Month Is Oktoberfest was starting to show some tipwear and I wanted to try out the new Barielle glitter I bought at TJ Maxx, so this happened. Turned out awesome!

Cirque Potosi over Cirque Fascination Street.

I'm still wearing this one as I write this. Again, Fascination Street wasn't boring but I couldn't resist the temptation of putting a new glitter on top of it. I actually liked it better without the glitter, but I think Potosi would look pretty sweet over a dark-colored creme or shimmer.

Sally Hansen Multi-Faceted over NARS Storm Bird.

Multi-Faceted is such an awesome glitter but it was crazy thick, as I'm sure you can tell by my disgusting, globular-looking nails. Will definitely thin it next time I use it.

Sally Hansen White Veil over OPI Don't Pretzel My Buttons.

White Veil was not thick like Multi-Faceted. This combination somehow reminds me of antique lace, dried flower arrangements with sprigs of baby's breath or an old wedding dress.

Now I feel like breaking out my Jordana Bronze Fest and layering it over something. I'm thinking OPI Deutsche You Want Me Baby.

    1. I agree :) Debris adds just a tiny bit of holo which somehow makes the duochrome in Epoch look even better!

  6. Oh wow, fab! I keep thinking I don't like bigger glitters, and then I see awesome glitter layers and jelly sandwiches and think, maybe I haven't seen the right ones yet... I might cave yet, so long as it's taco-free!

    1. All of these are definitely taco-free, hahaha! I got tired of big glitters after all the ones that came out last year, but some of them are so awesome. Cirque Debris and Sally Hansen Multi-Faceted might be my favorite of these.

    1. Got mine at Meijer! I think they came out last month (that's when I saw them at lease), on a display with a few other glitters and cremes (I think they were intended as layering combos)

  21. Nice to see this post, since I'm seriously addicted to bling-bling nails (glitter lacquer should be classified a controlled substance, IMHO).

Wonder how I missed that SH Multifaceted? It's very pretty!

    Great post!

  25. Also, White Veil looked so much like glitter and *sand* in the bottle that I passed it up, but seeing it on I'm kinda regretting it now!

  30. I own both of those SH jewel topcoats (highly underrated glitters),but you make me want the NARS and OPI polishes to go under them!

  31. I adore that Sally Hansen "Multifaceted" glitter. Wowza! The Oktoberfest polish with the Barielle glitter was my favorite combination.

Quick question; how do you keep your nails from going insane on you with all the frequent polish applications and removals you must do? Do you have any tips or favorite products for nail protection/healing? My nails are a wreck from my polish addiction. :-/
