The extraordinary partnership between Sephora, the leading beauty specialty retailer, and Pantone, the global color authority, continues with the launch of SEPHORA + PANTONE UNIVERSE™ Alchemy of Color Collection for fall 2012.
“Like a breath of brisk autumn air, the Alchemy of Color Collection for fall 2012 is inspired by the uplifting energy- created as we transition into the fall season,” noted Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute®.
“Focusing on a powerful palette, complete with rich jewel tones, this collection welcomes a new season filled with the magic of color.”
Celebrating the fall season, this collection showcases a kaleidoscope of precious hues with innovative textures and futuristic finishes that bring color to life.
Colors from this collection have been adapted from the PANTONE VIEW Colour Planner Autumn/Winter 2012/2013, with shade names inspired by ancient lore, alluding to the mystic energy that surrounds this collection.
Glowing tones emulate precious prisms and gemstones, appearing lavishly luminous. Sleek packaging has been designed to convey a sense of radiance and the transparency of a prism.
“This collection offers everyone endless ways to indulge in rich color. Featuring a powerful combination of reds, oranges and purples, it is the perfect way to transition into fall colors.” says Sephora PRO lead Jill Powell.

WOW! Evergreen is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThe bottles look tiny but they are so pretty!
ReplyDeleteThese are cute but there seems to be more bottle than polish and that always rubs me the wrong way lol. Someone did a comp between Scrangie and Parachute Purple and if memory serves me right Parachute Purple was darker and more Saturated than Scrangie. The shimmer in Scrangie is stronger.
ReplyDeleteI think it was Polish Insomniac that did it - they're definitely different. Scrangie continues to stand alone :)
DeleteIf Cradle Pink looks like it does in the bottle once applied, then I need it for sure.
ReplyDeleteThat's what I'm screamin!
DeleteThat's what I'm screamin'!
DeleteThat's what I'm screamin!
DeleteI bought Evergreen! It flashes blue from certain angles, it's a lovely duochrome. I have yet to put it on though! The bottles are nice and heavy.
ReplyDeleteWow, I really need to see some swatches of these. They look gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteWhoaaaaaaaa! I can't wait to see your swatches for it :)
ReplyDeleteThey look like... magic! Maybe I get myself one when going to Rome or Florence
ReplyDeleteScrangie is much more duochrome-y than the swatches of Parachute Purple I've seen! Don't worry, Scrangie is still unique and the best purple EVER!!
ReplyDeleteThese look really cool though!
Oooh, Reflecting Pond! These are gorgeous!!
ReplyDeletewow very pretty!
ReplyDeleteViolet Quartz looks heavenly :)
ReplyDeleteI can't wait for your swatches!
ReplyDeletereflecting pond is my fav!
ReplyDeleteThey all look absolutly amazing!
ReplyDeleteWow I'm in love with violet quartz and reflecting pond. I can't wait to see your swatches!! Have they given an exact release date yet?
ReplyDeleteI tried Violet Quartz, Reflecting Pond, and Evergreen when I was at Sephora earlier this week. Unfortunately, the duochrome in those shades were all weak, even after 4 coats for full opacity. Maybe you can make them work?
ReplyDeleteOops, sorry for the double comment! I realized that when I swatched them it was a rainy day, so I went back to try those three shades again today. Evergreen is a lovely green, but I couldn't see a duochrome effect. Reflecting Pond fares better with a lovely deep purple duochrome, and Violet Quartz is the best out of the three. It shines bronze and gold just like the picture :)

ReplyDeleteI'm wearing Parachute Purple right now. It's not an exact dupe of Scrangie, but it's pretty damn close. Close enough that it's likely to completely satisfy anyone who can't afford to pay (or just doesn't want to) RBL prices. There's a little less shimmer to it, but the base color is more pigmented. I threw on some Pure Ice Heartbreaker on top to amp up the green shimmer more and that worked a treat. Didn't change the base color at all, but really made the shimmer pop out.
ReplyDeleteI have two bottles of Scrangie already, but I love having this cheaper option so that I can postpone breaking into my more expensive stash!
Reflecting Pond reminded me a lot of Essie Dive Bar in the store, but I didn't buy it so I can't say for sure. Evergreen is a GORGEOUS shade of emerald green, so I snapped that one up as well.
Thanks for all the great info! :)
Deletewooow!fantastic colors!
ReplyDeleteThe bottles look so small, but Evergreen is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see swatches of Parachute Purple! That one stands out to me the most, and I am *not* a purple person at all!
ReplyDeleteThey're actually already available in stores.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see swatches!!!
ReplyDeleteThe Sephora in Troy, MI had them 😍Parachute Purple came home with me. LOVE at first sight.
ReplyDeleteCan't. Wait. For. Swatches.
ReplyDeleteSome of those colours are gorgeous, I'm definitely looking forward to your swatches. That being said, those bottles look teeny :(
ReplyDeleteTotally off-topic, did Deborah Lippmann's PR department ever send you a bottle of Mermaid's Dream? I was hoping that you'd be reviewing it, but it's from the spring so I think my chances are dwindling, haha.
Off-topic, but I was wondering if Zoya Jem is at all similar to OPI Every Month Is Oktoberfest? I love both colors, but I don't want to end up with two that are near the same
ReplyDeleteI'd say they're fairly similar, I think the shimmer in Jem might be bigger but otherwise pretty close
DeleteI'm waiting with baited breath! They all look cool, duochromes hell yeah! No one can dupe you :)
ReplyDeleteThe shimmer doesn't show up in Parachute Purple like it does in Scrangie, and I think the base purple in Scrangie is much more pleasing!
ReplyDeleteI saw these in Sephora in Boston this weekend. I would love to see your swatches of these! You do the best job with duochromes! I am very curious how they look on the nail!
ReplyDeleteBecause of this post, I was browsing the Sephora site and saw this shadow that made me think of you: http://www.sephora.com/shade-shifter-eyeshadow-P375407?skuId=1432830&om_mmc=ret-us%2Bnews1%2B20120827%2Bbbuster%2Bbuyer1-lp-kvdshiftershadow&emtc=us%2Bnews1%2B20120827%2Bbbuster%2Bbuyer1&ematg=2429194739&dcid=499854:22370261278:34865916
ReplyDelete(like the Monarch lipstick from Refinery 29 a while back, but for eyes!)
I picked up reflecting pond and violet quartz at sephora and have to say I'm disappointed. The colors are nothing like they look in the bottle and there's only 0.37oz not 0.5 as stated on the site. When applying on a basecoat there's not good coverage and they streak something horrible :-(
ReplyDeleteI bought the Violet Quartz and it is NOTHING like the bottle looks like but its never the less gorgeous. It looks like its a pinkish red but it looks more like a dark burgundy in natural light but can change and look a bit brown but again its still gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Spamula. Good to know.
