I was swatching the Jessica Peacock Queen collection, which is basically a very good trio of less-expensive Chanel dupes, and since I had all these polishes out in front of me already, I figured I'd try them on side-by-side just to see how close they actually are.
Chanel Peridot - Jessica Iridescent Eye - Ozotic 507 - Morpheus 205
Left to right (pinkie to index finger):Morpheus 205 (three coats)
Ozotic 507 (three coats)
Jessica Iridescent Eye (three coats)
Chanel Peridot (three coats)
Here's just Peridot and Iridescent Eye. Can you tell which is which? It's...Left to right (pinkie to index finger):

Now, the Ozotic and the Morpheus definitely aren't dupes of Peridot, but they are very similar to each other. Morpheus 205 dries to a smoother finish and has a better formula (and is discontinued), Ozotic 507 has a stranger formula but more yellow in the color. If you were looking for a brighter version of Chanel Peridot, or just a cool chrome-like bright green duochrome, you'd probably like Ozotic 507.
As for Peridot and Iridescent eye, I'm confident in calling them dupes. They are practically exact duplicates to my eye. Iridescent Eye has a better application and dries a touch smoother than Peridot, Peridot might be just a hair darker, but they're so close that I wouldn't be able to tell they were two different colors if I didn't already know.

DeleteI recently acquired Ozotic 507. I like it better than Peridot but the formula wasn't that great. I saw a comp. between an upcoming OPI release (Just Spotted a Lizard) which is a dupe to Chanel Peridot. I expect the OPI version will sell fast.

ReplyDeleteI would definitely say dupes as well, though for some reason I like the Jessica one more. If they're dupes, why would I like either more (besides price)? My eye is just drawn to it, maybe the slightest bit smoother/less streaky? I could just be crazy.

ReplyDeleteTopshop do one called Hidden Treasure, which is pretty similar to Peridot but less of a shimmer; more flat duochrome.

ReplyDeleteI'll buy the Jessica brand eventually. I do have a bottle of the Chanel. I'd love a backup but I'm not going to put out that money again. Now I can have a much cheaper version.
