My last post of 2011. I should probably make it a good one. To say goodbye to 2011, I'd like to show you something special. One of my most prized and cherished polishes: Forsythe Black Walnut.
Forsythe Black Walnut. This is a blackened burgundy base with lots of red and gold shimmer. It's that super smooth type of shimmer that I love so much, the kind that makes the polish look bright/glowing in the center and dark around the edges. The formula is an absolute dream. It's super opaque, smooth, even, goes exactly where you want it to. It's perfect in every single aspect.
This one is pre-Color Club. I have a handful of old Forsythe polishes and they're pretty nice, but this one is my favorite of all of them. I think this one was made into a Color Club shade, but I've never been able to find it in the Color Club bottle. I'd love to have a backup, but they're both long gone. So I'll just have to ration my precious bottle and hope that they re-release it one day.
So, there we go. Last post of 2011. Can't say that it was a particularly good year for me, but, I suppose it could have been worse. There were a few highlights and hopefully 2012 will be a little brighter. How about you guys? Have any new year's resolutions or wishes for 2012? Thanks for sticking with me for another year... Glad you're all here :)
The nailpolish is soooooo pretty! That´s real my taste.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year!
That's so lovely - the top photo of the bottle reminds me of a galaxy :)
ReplyDeleteThis polish is truly heaven in a bottle. Strange feeling when your using your most prized polish, happy to see the color and nervous to use it. My resolution is to get a bottle of OPI DS Glamour and not pay a fortune for it. Lol I feel blessed to be able to enjoy your blog. Happy new year.
ReplyDeleteWow, is that gorgeous or what? When I saw Forsythe in the title I instantly thought Color Club - what a shame they don't re-release this!
ReplyDeleteIt's been a year of ups and downs, for sure. I hope you have a good New Year though!
I only just discovered your blog this year (where have I been??!) and fell immediately in love - your pictures are amazing, I like the variety of brands featured, and I really enjoy your occasional non-polish related posts, especially the eye looks. Looking forward to journeying through 2012 with you. Have a lovely, lively, safe New Year's!
ReplyDeleteUgh...that is so painfully gorgeous. I'd love to own a bottle of that!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year, Scrangie and all the best to you in 2012.
ReplyDeleteI don't often comment, but enjoy your blog very much.
thanks for all you do!
Nan (NanRx)
What a gorgeous polish!!! It looks lovely on you. Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteGreat color!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year :) Looking forward to seeing what you will share with us in 2012!
Gorgeous! At first I thought it looked like SH Valentino.. but no. Looks CLOSE to CC Nothing But Truffle. Similar to ChG Branding Iron but blacker.. This is going to bug me!
ReplyDeleteHappy new year! All the best for 2012. Thanks for the fabulous swatches and most amusing commentary.
Absolutely gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous swatch as always! As we say good-bye to 2011 and welcome in 2012, I want to thank you for all the swatching and posting that you do all year! I sincerely appreciate the time & effort you put in and truly enjoy checking your blog as part of my day. May the new year bring you only good things....much luck, love and happiness! (and many, many sparkly things!) ;)
ReplyDeleteThanks again so much for all your hard work! This blog is one of the things I look forward to every single day...I thank you, and my bank account curses you. 2012 will be SUPER!
ReplyDeleteI literally just found your blog last night...the color is beautiful. Just an FYI...I found a polish from the mid 90s that's been discontinued on ebay. I had to pay a pretty penny for it, but its now finally in my lacquered hands. :)
ReplyDeleteHave a very Happy New Year. I pray it's better for all of us. I know I truly appreciate you & the hard work you put into this blog. It's a pleasure to read it. Love that polish. I wish it would be re-released. I'd love to have it.
ReplyDeletei hope this next year is better for you too. this year sucked for me, but hey. could have been worse!
ReplyDeletejust wanted to leave you a note that i am so happy i discovered your blog this year - i've turned into a little polish fiend myself, and your swatches and reviews help so much.
(plus, you're a rammstein fan that lives in my general area... bigtime bonus points there!)
Hi Scrangie - happy new year to you too! My new year's resolution is to stop buying so many pretty polishes (or move to a bigger apt. to store them!)
ReplyDeleteThx for all your hard work in your blog I read it in the morning before I start my busy day at work.

ReplyDeleteThat is STUNNING! I'm a sucker for reddish/chocolate shimmer colors...LOVE IT!
ReplyDeleteThis reminds me of a mash up of CC Jewel of a Girl, Zoya Kalista + Sinful Colors Rich at heart. We need to find a dupe for this ASAP! I need it in my collection!
ReplyDeleteThat's so gorgeous! Now I'm making myself crazy trying to figure out what the Color Club version might have been. It makes me think of Black-ish mixed with Nothing But Truffle, and maybe some With Abandon but with finer shimmer...
ReplyDeleteOh that is quite a gem of a polish! Happy 2012!
ReplyDeleteReminds me of Jewel of A Girl, but JoAG seems to lack the warmth.
ReplyDeleteHello, i was wondering you can tell me what was the name before color club. It's made by forsythe but it had another brand name. I used to love these polishes. Black walnut, all the 4 satina and there was a gorgeous shimmery red. And I cannot remember the brand
