This is the polish that I've been obsessed with lately. I love it so much, I can't get enough of it.
Essence Prismatic White. I'm sad that my pictures do no justice to this gorgeous polish, but I think they give you an idea of how it looks. It's a white-based shimmer that flashes many different colors. The main colors I see in most lighting conditions are strong blue-aqua-turquoise with pink and purple at the edges. It switches to a deeper purple and pink at a more steep angle, but when you tilt your hand the other way you get a bright green on top of the blue that looks like it's about to shift to yellow. The color shift is very strong and the colors look much more vibrant in real life than they look here. They're pastel shades, but they're definitely not weak.
The formula on it was good. It was in the middle in terms of texture; not thick enough to say it's thick, but not thin enough to call it thin. Right in between. I was afraid it would be frosty and streaky but it's really not at all. Any brushstrokes that were present during application disappeared when the polish dried. Dry time was good. I did three coats for this picture, but only because I was trying to cover the tipwear on a three-day-old manicure. I wore it with only two coats and it was perfect. Three coats will just intensify the color shift and make it a little more opaque.
This is similar to a few other polishes I have, like Nubar Angels Whisper, but to me it's the best one of them all. It has the strongest duochrome effect, flashes the most colors, is the most opaque and dries the quickest. It's so beautiful that it's distracting; I find myself looking at my nails changing colors when doing normal tasks instead of paying full attention to whatever I'm doing. Typing is pretty bad... it's really distracting while I'm typing. It looks so cool and magical, though, it's hard not to stare!
This is the only polish I have from the really bizarrely named "@Holografics.com" collection by Essence. It's not holographic, but it is a multichrome. Are the other shades as amazing as this one? Maybe I don't want to know because I probably won't be able to get them. Stumbling upon this one was a fluke as it is. The only other items I saw from the @ holographics .com collection were a duochrome blue (too heavily used to buy, sad) and a "holographic" (but not really holographic) blue duochrome glittery body oil which I did buy. Seems like it must have been an amazing collection, but I never see the Essence limited collections around here, just a small selection of permanent colors in super tiny bottles.
Anyway, amazing polish. Easily my favorite white-based polish now. Have worn it several times since I bought it and there's a pretty big dent in that tiny 0.33 oz bottle now. Maybe I should look into finding a backup because I never want to run out.
This is gorgeous! I also have this one but I haven't tried it yet. I layered Gagaelectric over a red creme and it looked really interesting!
ReplyDeleteWow this is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI don't blame you for being so distracted by your nails. It looks really pretty, and the fact that it's a multichrome would definitely get your attention in different lighting and angles. :)
ReplyDeleteI like this soft colour on your nails, although you do rock the bold, badass ones, too.
Thanks for sharing!
You have to have all polishes, especially Lil@c, Holoberry and Blue Ray! Everyone was searching after Holoberry here in Germany, because It was really rare to find!
ReplyDeleteGreetings, Bea
I have it too, and it's so gorgeous!!
ReplyDeleteAmazing!!
I have Prismatic white here being sad since I never use it... Have Gagalectric too if you want it!
ReplyDeleteI'm intrigued by glittery blue body oil...
ReplyDeleteNow I don't get why I never got those polishes. Probably because they were sold out, I did got the eyeshadow, which I don't like.
ReplyDeleteReally like it!
ReplyDeleteOh wow, this sounds like it was a really neat collection! This color is really pretty, I love pearly white polishes, but they can be tricky. This one looks like a winner!
ReplyDeleteI have it; I bought it from a full display of this collection at Ulta, it was the only one that looked interesting to me.
ReplyDeleteI was about to put it for swap because I didn't like a strong blue glow; but now I am wearing it as a pedi and loving it.
Uhm, don't be sad you didn't get the other stuff from the collection - it was a very sad collection after all; at least judging what came to life from the promo pictures shown here: http://www.fragdiegurus.de/essence-meet-me-at-holographics-com-trend-edition/
ReplyDeleteThe nailpolish was okay though. Problem was however, there've been too display variants, whereas one display (the on I stumbled upon various times) had only threee polish shades and a "full" display with all five shades. I regret until today that I wasn't able to get the shade named Holoberry. The Swatchaholic posted amazing swatches: http://the-swatchaholic.com/?p=3492 though you should always remember that on the average nails (like... mine for example -.-) the polishes' duochrome effect doesn't show up that strong. My nails and most of the other girls nails are just not "curved" enough.
And to be honest: nowadays and especially in the states, these shades are quite dupable as there are much more brands available (man, if I only think about the Beetlejuice Collection by models own or Orly and so on...). So, nothing one would've really missed out if one didn't live in Germany, where the collection really hit (and so many girls rambled as most of the collection was hard to handle - like the creme eyeshadows or whatever that stuff was - and the glitter eyeliners).
On my nails, prismatic white really doesn't look as good as on yours btw (http://lackmamsell.blogspot.com/2011/06/essence-n-04-prismtic-white.html), dunno white. Maybe because of skin tone? Hmhh...
I love Essence!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful polish. Shame it isn't available to us.
ReplyDeleteThis looks lovely on you.

ReplyDeletei think you captured it perfectly i really want it now, its so pretty.
ReplyDeleteI managed to find the two others that were released here in the US at Ulta, Blue Ray and Gagalectric. I love them both but not as much as this one! I wish they'd released all five shades though, I hate when they do this.
ReplyDeleteIf you want any products from limited editions by Catrice or Essence (or regular products) you just have to say the word. I'd be happy to send you some and I'm sure some other dutch, german our belgium fans would say the same :) Mail me any time lisanneblogt at gmail dot com
ReplyDeleteI have this one and Gagalectric, which is a bit purple. They are awesome for layering and so very pretty. I lucked into them at Ulta, but they sold quickly!
ReplyDeleteThe Essence Holographics.com collection was one of their best collections this year and I went a bit backup crazy with it. Another stunning collection is the Vampire's Love collection which came out almost two months ago here. I really hope you will get it in the US too. The colors and finishes aren't anything new though it is such a great selection of vampy and gorgeous colors.
ReplyDeleteI feel the pain from my lovely US friends about the smaller displays in the US which are often missing shades which are released here in Europe. :(
The problem is that Essence often releases two versions of collection displays. A huge one with the entire collection and a smaller one which often sadly is missing one or two nail polishes. The small Holographics.com display was missing Lilac and Holoberry. :(
Here in Germany then only a few drugstores get the huge display and I also have to hunt certain shades down. The last example after Holographic.com was the in the beginning of December released Circus Circus collection where the small display is missing the double ended nail polish with the black square glitter which is the best nail polishes in my most biased black glitter loving opinion. :(
Only two drugstores (Ihr Platz and Rossmann) got the huge display and sadly dm Drogeriemarkt got the small one. It's really odd because it must actually cost more money in production to create two different displays than to release the same type of display everyhwhere. :(
They had this at my Ulta when I went after Christmas! I got the blue, too, but passed on the body oil though it looked interesting. If I recall correctly these were the only two polishes, but there might have been an eyeshadow or something.
