Also new from Urban Decay for Holiday 2011 are two new 24/7 travel sets- Naked and Electric. This is the Naked set (which really does coordinate beautifully with the Naked palette) and it contains five travel-size (0.8g / 0.03oz) pencils: Zero, Underground, Stray Dog, Bourbon and a new shade, Demolition.
You can enlarge these to see the detail in the colors if you'd like. Zero, Demolition, Bourbon, Underground, Stray Dog.
Swatched over bare skin, with flash and without. Zero, Demolition, Bourbon, Underground, Stray Dog.
These pencils seem to have the same silky texture, buildable pigmentation and long wear time as the regular, full size 24/7 pencils, they're just smaller. Despite the fact that I blow through eyeliner like it's going out of style, I still have a thing for miniature makeup... The little mini pencils are so cute!
As far as the colors go, they're all good. Zero has been a holy grail product of mine since the day it came out and Demolition is a perfect matte dark brown (sometimes brown pencils are too light for me and don't give me enough definition). Bourbon is nice and sparkly, Underground is a smoky taupe that is really growing on me and Stray Dog is incredibly sexy on my brown eyes. Not a bad color in the bunch, all are excellent every day staple colors and they're entirely wearable.
If neutrals aren't your thing, never fear... Urban Decay has a set for you as well. Stay tuned for a review!
The Limited Edition Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil Travel Set of 5 in Naked is $32 and is available now at Sephora and Urban Decay.
(These were sent to me for review.)
Oh, I love this set! I've been meaning to try Bourbon, Underground and Stray Dog but I couldn't find myself to commit to a full size pencil when I still had 432984 other pencils in my make up bag. Thanks for the swatches! I'm off to order these right now!
ReplyDeleteI love Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil!
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous set! This is right up my street. Like you, zero is absolute HG, but Bourbon is one of my favourites as well, so I'd always appreciate spares of those - and the other three look gorgeous too! I need an excuse to buy these for myself! x
ReplyDeleteI think I might pick this up. My Bourbon pencil is on its last leg. Might as well pick it up along with his friends.
ReplyDeleteI love these UD mini pencil sets, I have a few from a couple of years back, all brighter colours, but these look great, and very wearable as they are neutral x
ReplyDeleteThis looks like a great set! I love underground and stray dog....
ReplyDeletehow long is the mini compared to the full size? they looked pretty big on the website. my have been ordered and shipped. i am awaiting arrival. i hope they are worth the cost. $6+ is alot for a pencil especially if they are small!
ReplyDeleteJacs, they're pretty big. About 3/4 the size of a full size. Full size pencil is 1.2g/0.04oz and these minis are 0.8g/0.03oz, so you get a good amount of pencil here!
ReplyDeleteThanks, guys! :D
I have brown eyes too and WOW these ALL look great! 3/4 size sounds pretty big for a "mini" too :)
ReplyDeleteThese are lovely! It's definitely going on my Christmas wishlist. I heart the Naked Palette and love how this will compliment it nicely.
ReplyDeleteI also have a thing for mini version. They're great for travelling, especially. :)
ReplyDeleteThese are all colours that I would get a lot of use out of. Thanks for swatching and reviewing this, Scrangie.
"Zero" is my everyday go-to upper lid liner, and it really does stay on pretty well. Ditto their metallic silver (can't remember the name) that I use on lower lids. I've also got Underground, but it's waaaay too reddish-brown for me and makes me look either ill or recently-punched.
ReplyDeleteI was in Ulta the other day and saw these. I couldn't decide on which set I wanted, but after seeing these swatches. I know know! Thanks!!!
