Holly. An amazing bright green metallic. Not quite a foil, but more metal looking than your average shimmer. The shade on this one is perfect- very bold yellow-toned green. This is exactly the kind of green I'm usually looking for!
Izzy. A bright magenta foil. Extremely colorful. Very bold looking with the foil finish.
Noel. A light denim blue foil. This one looks a little similar to Crystal but they're definitely not the same.
Kissy. I think this is my favorite color in the collection. It's a really awesome glitter and I don't own anything else like it. It's a combination of red, pink, purple and silver holo with traditional tiny round glitter and larger bar glitter. I love bar glitter. It's very rare to see anyone do bar glitter these days, so I'm really happy about this.
Rina. Rina is all green. Greena Rina. Bar glitter and regular glitter with just a hint of hologram bar glitter to add depth. Doesn't this look like a pile of pine needles? Love it.
Twila. This is a light blue round/bar glitter combination with only a little holo bar glitter. The holo glitter really blends in against the blue base so it's hard to tell it's in there.
Those were the colors alone, but glitters are great for layering, so here's what they look like layered:
Kissy over Holly. If you enlarge these, you can see the pretty red glitter that's in Kissy.
Kissy over Izzy. In my opinion, these glitters look best layered over their coordinating base shades, or at least over a base color that's not too different from the color of the glitter. Doesn't this look great? When the base color is too different, I find the glitter to look splotchy and patchy.
Kissy over Noel. Love that red glitter.
Rina over Holly. Green on green. Looks so festive.
Rina over Izzy. Very Christmassy, but I still think it looks splotchy... Doesn't it?
Rina over Noel. Doesn't look so patchy over a similar base color, though. The blue and the green play well together.
Twila over Noel.
The formula on these was great. The foil/metallic shades applied like a dream, no problems there. The glitter shades were a little thick but otherwise good. The glitters thickened a lot while I was using them, especially around the neck of the bottle, so I'm thinking I may need to thin them eventually. All shades were nice and opaque, I did two on the metallics and three on the glitters. The glitters are surprisingly dense and can easily be worn alone. Dry time was good. The glitters dry rather textured and they definitely need a thick topcoat. They also seem to eat topcoat as some glitters do, so two coats of topcoat would be even better.
One thing worth noting about these is that the glitter is extremely shiny. I was noticing how shiny it was when I was out in sunlight for some of the photos... They looked alive! Sparkling and twinkling all over the place. Very pretty. I like these glitters a lot.
My favorites are Kissy and Holly, but there's not a bad polish in the collection. I think the glitters look better over a similar base color for layering, but they're amazing by themselves. I haven't tried them over black yet, but I'm going to do that soon because I think it will make the different shapes of glitter really stand out.
So happy to see bar glitter. Very cool, Zoya.

Bar glitter is amazing! They're really rare to find though. >< Personally, I used to love glitter polishes but because they're such a pain to remove, I'm leaning more towards cremes these days. =/
ReplyDeletegreat swatches and combos. my verdict is still out on on bar glitter.
ReplyDeleteI think that Zoya was listening to you, Scrangie! :D I remember you saying a few times how much you like bar glitter. And now these are wonderful! I don't have any bar glitter polishes, so I'll definitely need these. :)
ReplyDeletekissy is such a pretty shade
ReplyDeletedo want, rina in particular. it looks exactly like christmas tree needles!!
ReplyDeleteThe glitters!!!! THE GLITTERS!! They are gorgeous! Rina and Twila are gorgeous! Thanks for the swatches!!
ReplyDeletexoxox
I am in love with the bar glitter!
ReplyDeleteI want to get Rina then layer a coat of holo glitter over it to make it look like a twinkling christmas tree!
ReplyDeleteI am not really sure about bar glitter. I might like the green combo (it really does look like pine needles =) but the pink one looks so messy to me. I guess i need to see them in person...the base colours look very good, i might need to buy one, or two, or three! Haha.
ReplyDeleteOh dear, I had just decided to skip this collection because all swatches I've seen look so meh. But now I need both Rina and Kissy.. Darn.
ReplyDeleteI need Holly and Rina! They are super pretty!
ReplyDeleteAwesome post and colours! :)
ReplyDeleteI really like Holly, Noel and Rina, they are gorgeous. I'm green with envy :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing this Scrangie!
Those glitters are really pretty. And I agree, they're nicer when applied over a colour not too different from themselves. :)
ReplyDeleteOMG RINA! I love bar glitter, and you don't see it so much anymore. All these colors make me think of the beautiful prismatic wrapping paper on gifts under the twinkling Christmas tree. :sigh:
ReplyDeleteVery very cool... I need to make an Ulta shopping list!
ReplyDeleteI love Kissy as that is my name. I have to get several bottles.
ReplyDeleteLove the holly and Noel!
ReplyDeleteI love this collection!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you for swatches! I love Holly so much!
ReplyDeleteA spectacular collection. Can't wait to get it. That glitter is amazing.
ReplyDeleteI like Holly and Noel. The glitters do nothing for me as they remind me of grass or hay or something else unpleasant.
ReplyDeleteI love them all! I want them all! lol ^_~
ReplyDeleteWow I really like them! Any chance of seeing Twila over a white base or a light pale blue? I think it might look good...kind of icy!
ReplyDeleteI have a feeling I will be getting Kissy and altering it with EVERYTHING.
ReplyDeleteThe glitters are amazing
ReplyDeletei'm surprised to see bar glitter but i'm glad Zoya is trying something none of the other big companies are doing right now
ReplyDeleteHolly looks amazing! I am not a big fan of bar glitter, but the colours are pretty!
ReplyDeleteSo pretty! Do you know when this collection is going to be available?
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for showing us the first swatch shots I have seen at least of the Zoya holiday collection. Up to now I only had seen the bottle shots from Cosmoprof. I cannot wait for this collection to come into stock! Love what you did with some of the combos of the bar glitters. I wore a really bright red shimmer for 4th of July and because I had no blue glitter but for an art glitter pen, I ended up putting a teal blue really fine bar glitter I found in a mini no brand bottle at Walmart and adored it. These are reminding me of what I had going for the 4th only these bar glitters are longer and wider than what I stumbled into for the 4th as my topper. The teal on the super bright red did not look teal unless you got super close - it just looked like a shade of blue.
ReplyDeleteI love these! When will these be available for purchase?
