Nubar Love Rainbow

All of the Nubar duochromes I've posted so far are ones that I love. How about something a little different this time? A Nubar duochrome I don't love!


Nubar Love Rainbow. This one was listed with the other duochromes on Nubar's website, but it just doesn't compare. Now, it's not a bad color- not at all. It's actually a really pretty color. The problem is that it's just not very duochrome-y. It's a pale blue-green frosty shimmer with a really subtle light green shift. Really not what I had expected with an awesome name like Love Rainbow. Love Rainbow sounds like it should be the most fantastic crazy duochrome you can imagine... like little unicorns magically appear from your nails and make it rain sprinkles when you wear it. This is not that awesome. The duochrome doesn't improve over black, either.


Oh, and it's really sheer. This is four coats and I think it could have even used a fifth.

    hmm...see what you mean. Even in diff light angles it seems to refuse to budge

    To be honest, sometimes there isn't consistency with Nubar's formula. I have Wild Life that I swatched. I decided I wanted a back-up because I was going crazy wearing it. The second bottle I received had little to no duo chromey goodness about it. Same with Peacock Feathers - the bottle I have is a dud, but the one my friend has makes me weep with joy and envy!

    Have you tried it over black? Maybe it's one of those annoying duochromes that are blah on their on but are amazing over black.

    ya, this is pretty disappointing, especially with a name like Love Rainbow, as you mentioned. oh well, nubar has so many awesome polishes, i forgive them this one time :P

    I've got Love Rainbow too and I don't like it at all. Same with Tropical Treat and Innocent Whispers for same reasons...pale and very lame duochromes.
