I'm sure you've heard of Glitter Gal by now- purveyors of mega-holo polishes in a rainbow of awesome shades? Well, if not, then keep reading to hear my two cents on these little holographic beauties.
I got to try six shades, but there are many more available here.
Copper. This is more of a dark warm pink or a warm rose than a true copper, but that's okay. It's gorgeous and insanely holo. It's even holo indoors away from sunlight!
Dark Purple. Purple holo. Compared to the others, this one looks more like a chunky scattered holo, á la China Glaze Kaleidoscope.
Frappe. Very pale light lavender pink holo. Can't say I've seen many soft baby pink holos before! It's really delicate and pretty.
Green. Honestly, this doesn't look very green. It looks like a dirty silver in most lights and a very pale seafoam in others. That doesn't bother me, just look how holographic it is... Kinda hard to be disappointed with that.
Light As A Feather. A white holo. How cool is that. White. Actually, it looks a little grey because of the silvery metallic particles, bit still has this odd creaminess to it that I've never seen in a holo before. Totally unique and I think it may just be my favorite.
Lizard Belly. How long have we all been waiting for a good dark green holo? Here it is. Finally. A dark green holo. My pictures don't do it any justice, but it is fantastic. It's a blue-toned green, black, and the holo particles really stand out against the dark base.
Red. Not much to say about this one, either. It's red... it's holo... it's pretty freakin' hot.
The formula on these is perfect. It's much better than the formula on a lot of the old holos; this formula is a little thicker, much more opaque and isn't patchy or streaky. I didn't get the bald spot issue that I have with the China Glaze OMG or Nfu Oh holos. Two coats is adequate for most of these. Lightning fast dry time. All around great formula and application.
One thing to note: These are smaller than the average polish bottle. The Glitter Gal holos are 9ml/0.33 fluid ounces. Apparently the hologram material used to make these is extremely expensive, so they keep the bottles small to keep the cost down. That said, these are also more expensive at $14 a bottle.
These polishes are totally worth the high price tag. The formula is great, the color selection is way more interesting than the usual plain gold and silver, and the holo effect in these is crazy good.
By the way, you can still enter Llarowe's drawing for a chance to win three Glitter Gal holos. This link will take you to the entry page. The winner will be drawn this weekend, so you only have a couple days left! (By the way, since I had someone ask, 'pay tribute to a fallen soldier' doesn't mean you have to literally pay anything, it just means that you may leave the name of a soldier you'd like to remember.)
(These were sent to me for review.)

I love these. I wish they weren't 14 bucks a bottle tho. I love your blog by the way:)
ReplyDeletei love holographics!
ReplyDeletekiss ;*
Those are pretty holo polishes! I like Lizard Belly best, probably because I prefer dark polishes most of the time and I am not into pinks so much. Hope to get my hands on those some day.
ReplyDeleteYou are the bomb! Fantastic and wish I had your nails! :)
ReplyDeleteThese are gorgeous! But 14 bucks is a bit much for me. Wish they were cheaper :(
ReplyDeleteLove these... I might have to track down Lizard Belly... fab!
ReplyDeleteThe dark purple & lizard belly are to die for :)
ReplyDeleteI'm definitely not a pink person, but Frappe and Copper look awesome. Too bad I made my order yesterday.. :(
ReplyDeleteLight as a Feather is so pretty, almost like an opal! $14 is high, but they are so gorgeous I think it's money well spent
ReplyDeleteI have the copper one. It's very holo, very nice. I'd love to have the red and black one someday. $14 is a bit much though for that bottle size, I agree with others.
ReplyDeleteThese are so awesome! I love Light As A Feather and Lizard Belly! *drool*
ReplyDeleteI really think they're pretty!! Quite awesome actually. But the price is ridiculous. The Ozotic holos are less expensive (same price, much bigger bottle) and they are just as awesome. Really, I think these are too expensive, but gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteLove all of these - argh!
ReplyDeleteThey are all awsome and I love them. I have all but Green. I never thought it looked green enough and it seems I was right. ;D
ReplyDeleteRed is my favourite, and the purple one from the 3D-series, not the Sparkle series.
I am jealous lol.
ReplyDeleteI seriously want all of these. So darn beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI want them all - gonna have to see if they ship to the UK!?
ReplyDeleteThey are so great!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the swatches!
Wow, these are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteYipes!! My lemming list just exploded!
ReplyDeleteRed and purple holos are just adorable! Love them!
ReplyDeleteWow, incredible! I really like Light as a Feather :)
ReplyDeleteI have the blue, not another red, dark purple, and cupid-- love them all--the holo is to die for, the formula great, and they wear like iron!!
ReplyDeleteOh my! Thank you so much for introducing these to us! I'm bummed that they're so expensive, but they look like they're worth it.
ReplyDeleteOnce again, Scrangie, you make me want to buy everything! Ahhhhhhh! :P
ReplyDeleteThe white holo is something I've never seen before, so that really intrigues me. And the dark-green holo, Lizard Belly has such an awesome name!
Thanks for swatching these gorgeous polishes! I love your photos!
Gorgeous! I totally signed up to get Lizard Belly and likely will grab green too :D
ReplyDeleteSo awesome! Great swatches!
ReplyDeleteThis is my fav GG red - it's just amazing. I also love Frappe, Green & White. They are worth springing the $ for - every stash needs a couple of this line at least! Warning...they are addictive!
ReplyDeleteI drooled when I saw Lizard Belly. What a fantastic color!
ReplyDeleteOh Lizard Belly, I have to have you. I think I have to have them all. They are some amazing holos.
ReplyDeleteLizard belly looks so amazing! These are great holos
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! Some of them are good dupes for Nfu Oh!
ReplyDeleteLOVE Lizard Belly. OMG the name alone! lol
I just got a red holo from Ozotics, was so excited to get a RED LINEAR HOLO!! dude.
Thanks for new lemmings *smooch*
These are all so awesome...I may have to order one or two. Are they that shiny or do you have a top coat? I have 3 Nfu Oh's, but they are not shiny and the topcoat kills the holo effect. I've done the sandwich thing, but it still doesn't look like this, plus they just don't wear very well.
ReplyDeleteAhem. I have been stalking Llarowes site. There is something VERY COOL waiting. I am so FREAKING excited I had to run over here and comment. Cuz this is kinda your fault. Thanks ;)
ReplyDeleteNot to mention the Navy Seals Fundraiser going on.
If I am killed by my husband tomorrow, this will be the last comment I make on a blog LOL. Scrangie, you do create the most DELICIOUS Lemmings EVAH. Just sayin' ;)
Who would I bequeath my polishes to...hmmmmm LOL
Thank you for supporting Glitter Gal Australia and Leah Ann. Glitter Gal's Kerry and Anna send big hugs and kisses xoxo
ReplyDeleteGorgeous swatches! I have been smitten with this brand ever since I tried them for the first time a few months back. Their formula for holo polishes is amazing. ^_^
ReplyDeleteMy first Glitter Gal arrived in the mail today. I got Lizard Belly. I can't wait to try it. It's a bit shocking how tiny the bottle is but I have a feeling it will be worth the price tag. *gulp*
ReplyDeleteI bought Glitter Gal 10 to Midnight and it looks gorgeous! Too bad the bottle is so tiny! I'm just wondering: did you use topcoat for this manicure? I own another holo nail polish, and when I tried to apply topcoat, my nails lost the beautiful holographic effect!
ReplyDeleteI don't remember, but probably not. That happens to me with certain holo and topcoat combinations (the holo disappears), but I don't think I've noticed it happening with these. Usually it's Seche Vite that takes away the holo the most, but it does come back after it's dried for about a day. Weird, right?
