I had almost forgotten about Nubar Purple Beach when I posted Revlon Khaki Zing. It's been so long since I'd worn it that I immediately had to find it and get it on my nails! I took a lot of pictures. This is such a shape-shifter, I couldn't take just two or three...
Nubar Purple Beach. This one flashes so many different colors, it's constantly changing. The main color is the one in the first picture- a dusty purple with green duochrome at the edges. When you're in warmer, more direct light the polish shows a more golden side with some red tones and streaks of gold to warm the purple and only a bit of green. When you're in dimmer light the green comes out. There's olive green with lots of gold and there's a darker, more blue toned green that looks amazing with the purple. The darker green comes out best indoors away from sunlight.
Some of these older formula Nubars have a bit of an iffy formula, but this is one of the better old ones. It's not too runny but it's not the nice thick opaque formula Nubar does now. I'm sure they've probably reformulated this color since I bought mine, my bottle is at least four or five years old.
I think I have this.. or did I swap it? Either this one or moon shadow I still have. Gah *runs to look* Saweet I have it. Must wait for a cloudy day though. Sunshine does no justice to duochromes imo.
ReplyDeleteI love Nubar duochromes. This looks awesome on you!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! It kind of reminds me of a combo of OPI Not Like The Movies and OPI Have You Seen My Limo?
ReplyDeleteMan this is awesome! I have to check to see if I have this-if I don't I need it!
ReplyDeleteIs this one smilar to Mean & Green by MAC?
ReplyDeleteIt's lovely <3
ReplyDeleteNubar duochromes are hot, this one is no exception!
ReplyDeleteI love how pictures of duochromes look totally different from what I myself see when I'm wearing them! I had KhakiZing back in the day and I mostly saw the bronze/olive side but other people saw the violet more than I did.
ReplyDeletereminds me of iris dust.. really pretty!
ReplyDeleteThis is a Nubar colour I really want. Need to get my hands on it! So pretty - thanks for swatching it and showing all the colours so well in your photos.
ReplyDelete- Mary
Sooo pretty! I love it!
ReplyDeleteWhat Tropical Mind said -- I instantly thought of DL "Wicked Game" and OPI "Not Like the Movies".
ReplyDeleteomg I love it I just got peacock feather
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty one!!! It reminds me a lot of OPI Amethyst abyss, just a little darker.
ReplyDeleteSo gorgeous. I've been really looking for a great polish that changes as much as this one, and I think I've just found it! Hope it's still just as pretty now as yours is!
ReplyDeleteNew follower by the way! :) *waves*
Soooooo pretty- this one seems to have more purple to it than Khaki Zing. Well, maybe. See? I really need Khaki Zing so I can do a side by side.
ReplyDelete(...like I need to convince myself...HA!)
Lemmings on parade!
Wonderful duochrome polish. I only have one Nubar (Nubar 2010). Time to add another one to the list!
ReplyDeleteLove this! I'm one of the few people who like duochromes more than holos.
ReplyDeleteLove this polish and I'm sure glad I have it. I flashes so many beautiful colors.
ReplyDeleteThis is a great oldie....It has no match right now. Wish it was in my collection! I am with KayJay - L prefer duochromes more than holos also
ReplyDeleteTropicalMind, CCouture, this Nubar one is so much better than those :) More opaque, more color shift! But I love them all.
ReplyDeletexXKangarooPawXx, nope, not similar! I love both though!
Thank you everyone :)
