Out of all the duochromes Nubar has, this one seems to be the icon. I know it is for me- when I hear "Nubar", the first thing I think of is Peacock Feathers. And for good reason- it's stunning. There are very few polishes I've worn as much as I've worn this one.
Nubar Peacock Feathers. In all the times I've tried to photograph this, I still haven't been able to get all the colors to show up at once. And there are a lot of colors in this one. The main combination is purple with a blue shift. Then green; both golden-green and blue-green. Hints of yellow and orange appear when viewed at an angle in dim lighting. It's really much better in real life than I am able to show in these pictures. The super dark purple/green duo is just so cool.
My bottle of this seems thin compared to my other Nubars. I need at least three coats when I wear this one, but each extra coat gives more impact to the polish.

STUNNING. I hate that they discontinued this one! I've been stalking the Bay of Evil for it with no luck.
ReplyDeleteOh, I need this one! I wouldn't even mind extra coats.
ReplyDeleteThis is one of my favourite Nubar polishes. They really know what they're doing in creating duochromes and multichromes, but it's annoying how they discontinue some good colours like this.
ReplyDeleteAmazing, wish it was still available :(
ReplyDeleteSuch a star polish from Nubar. Really odd that they discontinued the color. Boo!
ReplyDeleteThey need to bring this back. Maybe we should start a protest march and shut down the SF BART stations. lol
ReplyDeleteI'm serious about bringing it back.
It's so beautiful! :D I don't own it yet, but I can't wait to buy it
ReplyDeleteI received this polish (in the mini bottle) for my bday few days ago, but I didn't have a chance to wear, yet. I must to! :D
ReplyDeleteSo sad its been discontinued, cant find it on ebay :(
ReplyDeleteI love this polish! Glad I have it. I had no idea that it was discontinued. Looks gorgeous on you.
ReplyDeleteso freaking pretty! Love it!
ReplyDeleteI didn't realize it was discontinued O.o I'm glad I picked it up when I did lol. When I first wore it I thought it was too dark but it really is such a gorgeous color it didn't take me long to warm up to it :)
ReplyDeleteI wish it was still available! Although... reading your blog is becoming rather expensive to me! Thanks to you, I've already bought 10 Nubar duochromes on eBay. :D
ReplyDeleteIt must have been too expensive to produce is the only reason they would have discontinued it as it was a huge seller. I for one would pay extra like we do for their Prism collection items if they just would bring it back.
ReplyDeleteThis was my first Nubar polish and it's just gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThe is the most gorgeous color!
ReplyDeleteWhy do all of the best things get discontinued?
I've kept my eyes out for this polish since reading this blog post. I couldn't find it anywhere...until I got lucky and found it on Amazon.com today. There was only one left in stock and I snatched it up immediately. I'm so excited for it to get here, I have a feeling this is going to be my new favorite! :)
ReplyDeleteI have this one and also agree it's an icon of my collection. There are other duochrome that have come out since in Models Own and many other brands. You can find a purple-blue shift - maybe one that has some green in it - but then to have gold, orange and a glimmer of red now and again this gives just does not come along often. I have no idea why Nubar stopped making this - they did not stop making others in the collection this came from - seems odd. Maybe it is just to keep their name in the buzz that once they made this amazing polish so folks keep coming to look at what the company puts out? It's really not a brand that markets itself well. I never see it in any beauty supply stores - likewise I never see it in nail salons other than the Painted Nail that is on TV Guide Channel with a cute reality show that did get picked up for a 2nd season.
