How about another random one from the stash? Random is fun.
This is L.A. Girl Avocado Sparkle. Amazing color, horrid formula. Cheap, though. The color is a light avocado green base with blue/violet/pink flash and gold microglitter. The glitter is perfectly smooth and the flash is very visible. Such a gorgeous color. Shame about the formula. This is about five coats. It's watery and sheer, way more thin and sheer than it should be. I mean, really... WHY IS THIS SO SHEER?! Is it because it was cheap? I can't make sense of it. It's like water!
Ah, well... great color.

You deserve a pat on the back. I couldn't stand painting on 5 coats. 3 coats annoys me. LOL
ReplyDeleteThat is lovely! And man, I'd layer it on a similar green polish to get the look but to not waste 4 extra layers of polish :-/
ReplyDeleteits a gorgeous color but putting on five coats sucks.
ReplyDeleteA really unusual green- but 5 coats? Well done for your perseverance!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! You should layer it ober ChG Entourage perhaps? I have a blue from LA Girl just like this one. Same shimmer and everything.
ReplyDeleteDoes it look pretty over black? Do they still make this one? It's so pretty! I love your random swatch posts! :D
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, that is such an incredible color! Avocado is the perfect name for it! It really is a shame about the formula. If only China Glaze or Nubar made this, I'd be all over it. Do you happen to know of any dupes or similar colors?
ReplyDeleteVery pretty colour. You always make every polish look incredible! Had you not mentioned it, I would've thought the formula was perfect - it looks great on your nails.
ReplyDeleteFive coats is pretty ridiculous!

Great color! That's too bad about the formula!
ReplyDelete5 coats definitely goes into my bleh box, despite the color and finish. But this is right up my alley, looking like super-glossy apple candy! No topcoat, right?
ReplyDeleteI can't decide if I like this color. The name alone turns me off - you don't usually hear "avocado" and "sparkle" together. However, if this takes 5 coats to be opaque, I think I have my answer.
ReplyDeleteThat color is super pretty! I pretty much don't like sheer nail polishes but that's about all I can afford...haha
ReplyDeleteScrangie, your nails are sooo pretty, they make any polish look even better. Thanks for your blog, its my go-to, so don't stop! LOL BTW, I like this avocado color, its fresh, the sparkle is okay but I think I'd like it more without the sparkle.
ReplyDeleteIt is a great shade...but not worth it with a crud formula. I hate the name avocado because it reminds me of the late 60's with the gold and avocado shag rugs - ditto with the kitchen appliances in the same shades.
ReplyDeleteHow sad that such a great color has a terrible formula. :(
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness that is so funny I thought I was the only person who owns this color! But of course you have it. Mine is still untried, thanks for the heads up, I will layer it.
ReplyDeleteI have some of those L.A. Girl polishes, and they are strange and beautiful!
ReplyDeleteWow another gorgeous green!
ReplyDeleteLove this colour!! Beautiful nails, by the way :)
ReplyDeleteThe color is really beautiful, but I guess I will not have the patience to apply five coats...
ReplyDeleteI have this but haven't worn it. Love this shade.
ReplyDeleteHaha, I have this one too :) I posted some pretty crappy pics myself, it's actually a really cool polish! It was pretty sheer but I think I got away with four coats... I don't recall it may have been five :P I know the whole time I wore it I just kept thinking "this needs black glitter".
ReplyDeletewow, that's stunning and different.
ReplyDeleteThanks, guys :) I can't think of another color quite like this one. Barielle Myrza's Meadow is sorta similar but kinda lumpy, this one is nice and smooth.
ReplyDeleteI would be tempted to do 5 coats for this one, but I'd probably layer it just to save the polish. I'm guessing it's no longer available.
ReplyDeleteArrianne, I checked the website and didn't see it, but these things linger around in dollar stores for ages so there's probably stock somewhere!
ReplyDeleteThe L.A Girl Essentials line got axed a while back. I four colors from the Essentials line. Great colors. You are right about the formula. I agree with the poster who said layer it with a similar color.
ReplyDeleteI plan on emailing the company to find out if L.A Girl other lines or it's sister brand L.A. Colors have any dupes and/or similar colors to to the Essentials colors I have.
