Cheap Stila Endless Summer set from Costco!
Sometimes Costco ends up with these crazy deals on makeup- they used to have a lot of Smashbox sets, Borghese, three-packs of my favorite Lash Blast mascara, they even had MAC blushes at one point. They have Stila sets every now and then and I picked this one up because it looked so pretty.
It includes a Smudge Stick liner in Koi, an eyeshadow palette and a glitter gel. At first glance, I thought the shadow palette was a bronzer and the glitter gel was a Lip Glaze!
Here's the shadow. It has a dark neutral brown with subtle gold shimmer, a light peachy-pink shimmer and a medium coppery-bronze shimmer.
The Smudge Stick liner in Koi. One of the most gorgeous gold liners I've ever seen. So smooth and glowy. Nice silky texture.
Left to right are the glitter eye gel, Koi Smudge Stick and the three shades of shadow.
The glitter eyeshadow looks suspiciously like Kitten glitter liner, which I have and love. The click pen style packaging makes using this as a liner impossible without using your own brush, but it makes a great topcoat over shadow to add sparkle.
Koi is just awesome. I'm pretty sure it's discontinued because Stila has it on clearance for $5. Gorgeous color, great payoff, creamy waterproof formula. The only complaint I have about it is that once you twist up the liner, it won't go back down! Must be a broken tube.
The shadow palette? Ehhh... Not the best, but not too shabby. It's made in China like a lot of the value/blockbuster palettes have been lately and it doesn't feel like Stila's usual shadow formula. The pigmentation is decent, though, and the colors all look good on and blend well, so that's cool.
I don't think I paid more than $15 for the set. Can't remember the exact price, I threw out my receipt. $14? $15? Either way it was cheap and worth it just for the awesome gold liner.
Love it when I stumble across unexpected discount makeup when I'm grocery shopping.
OMG...Koi eyeliner looks stunning! The shadows are gorgeous too....I want! x
ReplyDeleteThanks for the heads up! I used to get those huge jugs of Borghese Mud for really cheap at Costco and do remember some special Smashbox sets I picked up there too. I wondered why/how they ended up with them. Now with $ tight, not quite the same stuff flows through Costco but then it's always been a place to look and not depend you will find what you are looking for there on a lot of things.
ReplyDeleteI had no idea that they carried makeup brands like this at Costco because I'm not a member.
ReplyDeleteHehe, I love finding discount makeup, too, when I go grocery shopping. It usually makes those grocery trips fun instead of a chore. :P

wow great find. Going to go check out my costco today!
ReplyDeleteI just got koi and silver dollar, they are both great waterproof eyeliners. It's a shame Stila is discontinuing them.
ReplyDeleteI JUST got Koi from Sephora yeterday and I agree. My favorite gold eyeliner to date. And right now it's on sale at Sephora.com for 5 BUCKS!!!
ReplyDeleteI picked this up about a month ago, I can't pass up a good deal! I think it was around $14 as well, hard to beat that! I <3 Koi so much I bought an extra on the Stila clearance, so pretty.
ReplyDeleteThis is a really nice set. Shame there isn't a Costco close to me.
ReplyDeleteI love finding bargains like that! I get my cheap makeup at TJMaxx when they have it.
ReplyDeleteWoah, no idea Costco even sold make up brands like Stila!
ReplyDeleteI finally tried Lunar Eclipse. Loved it!!!
ReplyDeleteI love this! Anything Stila looks good on my dark skin. I had no idea Costco sold it thought. I usually go to Sephora...now I have to find my Costco card. Thanks for sharing. :)
ReplyDeleteOh dear. Now I really want koi.
ReplyDeleteI saw this at my local Costco, but I really only wanted the eyeshadow palette so I didn't get the set, even though it's a good deal I figured I've purchased enough makeup I wouldn't use for a lifetime
ReplyDeleteOh I guess I need to stop by Costco at some point soon. LOL
ReplyDeleteOh ur swatches are always the bomb :)
