My first summer collection post of the year! A welcome change from all the bland colors I've been staring at lately. The Zoya Sunshine set is the shimmer half of their summer collection. It reminds me a little of their Sparkle collection from last year, tons of glittery sparkle in these. Take a look.
Apple. See what I mean? Look at all that gold sparkle. This shade is a light yellow-toned green with crazy amounts of sparkling gold flecks. It looks like it could be a nice match for Color Club Magic Elf... I haven't compared them on the nail yet, but they strike me as being extremely similar.
Faye. This might be my favorite of the collection. I don't think I have another color quite like this. It's a warm prune purple base with insane gold sparkle. It's so bright. And it's not exactly glittery; the particles are really smooth and thin and shiny, not chunky or rough like true glitter. They blend together and make a really glowy smooth look.
Kimmy. Such a hard color to capture, it's so rich and colorful and sparkly. My camera can't handle it! The gold metal flakes and the saturated warm red go so well together. It looks like fire.
Reva. This color is much cooler and saturated in real life, the lighting is washing out the color in this picture. It's the cool toned counterpoint to Kimmie. It's a strawberry shade... except imagine that instead of seeds, the strawberry is speckled with 24 karat gold.
Rica. A golden coral glimmery shade. I like the depth in this, it's not a flat shimmer at all. The base of these colors is sheer and the gold flecks look really cool through the sheer base.
Tanzy. A light orange with gold fire. It's a little like Gabrielle, but the flakes are smaller and shinier.
The formula on these was different this time around. The biggest difference is the drying time, which is much longer than I'm used to from Zoya. The texture is a little thicker on these compared to the similar Sparkles, and they're more sheer so those factors could contribute to the long dry time. The Summertime half of the collection doesn't have the same long dry time. These were on the sheer side and I found that they looked best with three coats. I'm wearing three coats in all these pictures. Application was good aside from the thicker than usual texture.
All of these colors are so glowy. They're luminous. I really like how they look like they're glowing when you're wearing them. The colors are bright and cheery, and the cheeriness is only amplified by all that golden glow.
My top picks are Faye, Kimmy and Reva. All of them are nice, but those three wow me the most. Faye, because it's unique and gorgeous and Kimmy and Reva because they're so rich and colorful and the red shades look amazing with the gold metal flake.

ReplyDeleteApple and Faye are such gorgeous colors!
ReplyDeleteI ordered Rica, but I was also pretty tempted by Faye!
ReplyDeleteI ordered Kimmy.. It looks amazing to me. For a long time I didn't wear reds but lately I've been loving them.
ReplyDeleteI can't want to get mine. I chose all but Kimmy. Tanzy is a gift for a friends daughter who LOVES orange. The only colors out of the 2 main collections I didn't order were Kimmy, Sooki, & Tamsen.
ReplyDeleteI ordered faye and rica.. good choices :)
ReplyDelete♥ ♥ ♥ Rica and Tanzy! -I love how all of them are all shimmery ! (:
ReplyDeleteSo prettys! My favourite these is your green colour nails!<3
ReplyDeleteWow! I really love these!!!
ReplyDeleteI love them all! So glad I splurged and got every color of the BOGO color, haha.
ReplyDeleteI ordered all these through their BOGO offer and I can't wait. They're all so, so pretty!! Man! I want them NOW!!! Great swatches. And that green is perfect!
ReplyDeleteI ordered Faye & Rica. Faye was the must have for me out of all the collections, but I needed a second one to do the promo, so Rica it was!
ReplyDeleteBut looking at swatches of Rica let's me know I chose the right one :)
I'm loving Faye a lot!!! I still haven't purchased my BOGO polishes yet...but seeing swatches like these makes me want to click to checkout ever faster. eheh
ReplyDeleteGreat pics, Tanzy is definitely calling my name!!! I love the first one too, but I have od'ed on greens lately. :-)
ReplyDeleteI think you sold me on Kimmy!
ReplyDeleteI love Fye and Apple, I need those 2.
ReplyDeleteWish I'd gotten to see your swatches/opinions before ordering, I got all of the Sunshine ones except Faye and Kimmy, lol. Still, I'm really excited for Apple and Reva. Now I'm worried a Summertime post by you will make me regret not buying them!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous swatches (as always)! Could you please, please, please do comp swatches of Apple and Magic Elf? I'd love to be able to kill my lemming for Magic Elf with this sale.
ReplyDeleteBeautifull nails !
ReplyDeleteI love Apple and Faye...
ReplyDeleteI must have Faye!
ReplyDelete¡Ay, muchachica! ¡Qué colección más BELLÍSIMA! *swoon*
ReplyDeleteHope you're feeling completely better, sweetie! It's SOOOO good to see an (awesome - per usual! :)) new post from you, the interwebs just ain't the same w/o you - WAY too quiet and sedate! ;D
And this collection?! Freakin' gorgeous!!!
Score, score, and score!!!
Take care, girlie! XOXO ~Ruthie
I really like Rica and Tanzy.. they're all very pretty though. They remind me so much of last summer's sparkle collection. I only wish there were a blue/teal/turquoise in the collection.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you're feeling better (presumably)!!
ReplyDeleteAnd omg, your swatches make me regret not getting Rica...I took her out the cart and put Tamsen in like a fool.
Bleh, if only I were more patient. -___-
I got Reva and I'm so glad I did! Your swatches are beautiful :)
ReplyDeleteHey Scrangie, out of topic but I just saw soemone use your photos on ebay, seller is 'bbhealthybeauty4U'
ReplyDeleteI'm also ordering all of this collection. Love them all. Love a polish with golden shimmer in it. Thanks for getting these swatched so fast.
ReplyDeleteYou're so good at describing color! I especially love your description of Reva!
ReplyDeleteLove them all, the matte as well, too bäd I have not found a site that offers Zoya that takes Paypal and ship to Europe.
ReplyDeleteI am with you and will be ordering FAYE, Kimmy and Reva! I am with you on never have seen anything like Faye before...and I adore the updated look to a mauve, dusky purple with oh so much more going on in it. Not too sure on why the oranges however - orange is not a fashion shade at all right now with any popularity. Maybe if they got an orange with pink in it it would have cashed in on the MOD theme as orange & pink were HUGE in the flower power days
ReplyDeleteZoya is killing me with the amount of beauties they produce. I loved the Sparkle and Wicked and Intimate collections and now I absolutely need all of these shades ! They are AMAZING. I'm in love :D SO glad Apple looks like Magic Elf. I can't find Elf anywhere and I love it. I'm happy. Can you imagine a dark blue or black with the gold particles and this kind of finish? OMG. I love this collection. YAY

ReplyDeleteI'm wondering if Faye looks anything like Nubar Iced Licorice. I already have Iced Licorice so I'm not sure if I should order Faye in the bogo deal!
ReplyDeleteAnyone have any clue?
Tanzy, Rica and Faye... so perfect.
ReplyDeleteI *NEED* Apple, Rica, and Tanzy <3 So pretty and I don't have any colors like them yet.
ReplyDeleteI so love this collection!!! Especially Faye and Apple :-)
ReplyDeletethis is silly, but it made me really happy to see that the 3 you said were your favorites, were the very 3 that i ordered from this collection! you are by far my absolute favorite nail blogger. :)
ReplyDeleteI ended up with the whole collection and still more than a yr later - this is my fav Zoya collection. Try layering Reva with Tanzy and you come out with the exact shade of great fall leaves turn when they display red in VT, NH and MA. I found I wear Kimmie yr round (all but holiday) - it's just killer - up there with OPI Dear Santa as my top 2 fav shimmery warm reds.
