I've been working on swatching my entire China Glaze collection for quite some time now. I actually started the project almost two years ago, but I never got very far and now I've had to re-do a lot of the old terrible pictures I took. I have made a lot of progress lately but I also realized that it's a really big project and I'm not sure how exactly to break it into posts.... I haven't even finished swatching everything yet (still have over half a Helmer drawer left to go). I think the easiest way is just to do it alphabetically instead of trying to somehow sort them. Oh well, I'll figure it out as I go!
Avalanche (an avalanche... of frost!)
Barefoot Beauty
Bohemian Chic
Bohemian Rhapsody.... Scaramouche! Scaramouche! Will you do the fandango?
Cafe Mystique
Cat's Eye
Channelesque
Cherry Crystal
Coconut Kiss
Coral Star. (Sensing a trend with these old China Glazes?)
Cranberry Flame
Crystal Chandelier
Drama Queen
Draped in Velvet. Yes, I needed four pictures of it. It's one of their most beautiful colors- check out the nearly-holographic shimmer!
Fiji Fling
Glacier. Or, as that frequently nude, urine-drinking Discovery Channel guy would say, Glassy-ear.
Groovy Green.
Gypsy Cocoa
Gypsy Girl
Heart of Africa
Here's Looking At Hue! This one's a really cool duochrome, doesn't show up well in the picture.
Hot Lava Love
Hue Thrill Me
Hurts So Good
I'm Not Bitter
Jumpin' Jupiter (over Liquid Leather.)
Lady Sings The Hues. (Hint: The theme is frost.)
I'll stop there for now. Interesting selection of colors, right? See any you like? I am rather fond of the "Hue" series, though I don't remember the actual name of the collection. I also dig the all-red voodoo themed one...
More to come.
Yay for this project! It will be great knowing that you swatched so many shades and we can always come to your site and check them out!
ReplyDeleteooh Gypsy Cocoa is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThey're so pretty (most of them :) ) but I think I like Groovy Green the best! :D
ReplyDeleteit's nice to see all the CG polishes lined in alphabet
ReplyDeletewow
ReplyDeleteI d'ont have any china glaze but...it now the first on my wishlist
:O Coconut Kiss looks like the most perfect purple ever. I'd list all the one's you've now made me want, but..there's too many.
ReplyDeleteGreat swatches. I love Cafe Mystique especially.
ReplyDeletethe earthworm jim reference made me lol :) it brings back memories
ReplyDeleteAWESOME AWESOME AWESOME!!! Great idea, love it. These sort of things give me so much inspiration!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for doing this. I just recently starting buying China Glaze now that my OPI and Essie collections are pretty full. I have a couple CGs, but look to these blogs to help determine which I want next. Keep em coming!!
ReplyDeleteHue thrill me, is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteWhoa! I'm so going to love you for this idea and the enormous work you're doing!
ReplyDeleteGreat!!!!
Bohemian Chic.. Drama Queen, I'm not bitter...Hot Lava Love... OMG
Thanks for these swatches.
ReplyDeleteHalf a helmer? It's a huge amount of work ahead of you !!!
xoxo.
love this!! your swatches are absolutely wonderful and so helpful
ReplyDeleteHah I can only assume you're talking about Bear Grylls. You know, when I first heard of it I thought it was a cooking show on FoodNetwork LOL. I'd like to say I wouldn't kick him out of my bed, er tent, er leaf hut, but I'd be rather concerned over what tropical disease or parasites he might be harboring!
ReplyDeleteMmm mmm mmm I love me an arctic episode with a nude Bear. What a freak!
Wow! Great project! When I have to buy US polishes I usually check your swatches, they are really helpful :-) I hate to admit it but...I love Fiji Fling :-)
ReplyDeleteI have never seen many of those colors but I want them all!
ReplyDeleteLove the swatches, Crystal Chandelier just went on my wishlist :D The Earthworm Jim part made me LOL...
ReplyDeleteAhhh so good! :)
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see more!
Hm, I might have to get Draped in Velvet!
ReplyDeleteGreat swatches! I die of laughter reading your commentary! :P
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea! I'm really looking forward to see the rest of the China Glazes. Among these Draped In Velvet is my favorite, but I really like Hot Lava Love and Groovy Green too.
ReplyDeleteSome really awesome colors and some really frosty ones. Love the bar glitters. And thumps up for Earthworm Jim. My siblings and I loved those games.
ReplyDeleteDraped in Velvet looks sweet, as does Hue Thrill me. Have you got Turned up Turquoise? I want it to be amazing. I haven't thought of Earthworm Jim in a super long time. I'll probably have to introduce him to my 8yo son.
ReplyDeleteWONDERFUL post, thanks very much for your effort and for such beautiful swatches. Cheers!
ReplyDeleteI love you for taking the time to do this Scrangie! Wouldn't it be awesome to do this with all your brands? ;) Yeah, I'm sure you're like, screw you! Hehe
ReplyDeleteThank you for undertaking this enormous project!!! Your blog was already such a resource for me, and now it will be like having a China Glaze Encyclopedia.
ReplyDeleteYay! I look forward to seeing them all!
ReplyDeleteI can't believe I don't have Draped in Velvet. I got Anklets of Amethyst so why didn't I get that one too? I'm off to get it on my next order then.
There's so many polishes I've never seen before. Probably most aren't availavle. Groovy Green is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteWow, what a project! I haven't seen most of these before so this is really interesting. I really like Cats Eye, Draped in Velvet, Jumpin' Jupiter, and Lady Sings the Hues. (despite its frosty-ness.)
ReplyDeleteIs Groovy Green the same as Refresh Mint? I noticed that it was discontinued as soon as the Up&Away collection came out. It's been one of my faves. Never bought refresh mint because I didn't want a duplicate.
ReplyDeleteCG is my favorite nailpolish brand. I feel special that I have most of the colors you posted.
"Glacier. Or, as that frequently nude, urine-drinking Discovery Channel guy would say, Glassy-ear." Oh, Scrangie, you crack me up! Incidentally, I'm liking the nail polish as well. :)
ReplyDeleteI quite like Hue Thrill Me.
ReplyDeleteAnd I looove how Bear Grylls says glacier...I love how he says everything, really. Like vitamin. *swoons*
Thanks for all the swatches!
big thank you! this project is awesome and very very helpful! <3
ReplyDeletemaybe some day you can do one for your opi collection too? :D
Wow, what an incredible project you have taken on, and such an excellent way to showcase a variety of shades in an organized way. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteI'd LOVE to own Cat's eye. I think it's so beautyful.
ReplyDeleteAre many of theese polishes HTF?
