Well, this is going to be a short and sweet post because I only own a few of these! They're not available in the United States; all of these are gifts from my kickass friends ♥
Blue Monday. And I still find it so hard to say what I need to say... But I'm quite sure that you'll tell me just how I should feel today....
Golden Dragon. Blue toned gold with green metallic shimmer! Not quite a foil, not quite a frost. Green with gold veins.
Gasoline. Purple and blue glass fleck duochrome shimmer. Amazing.
Holographic. Unbelievable. No wonder this is so popular, it's insane! Perfectly holographic silver. I've heard from a few people that this is reasonably similar to the coveted and discontinued Chanel Holographic.
Purple Heart. A really slick purple/green duochrome. Like a less colorful cousin to Nubar's Peacock Feathers shade or a less metallic gothy version of Zoya Ki.
Rainbow over Purple Heart. I didn't take a picture of Rainbow alone cause it's hard to get it to show up on a naked nail. When I posted about Sally Hansen Hidden Treasure and Nubar 2010 when they came out, everyone asked me if they were similar to GOSH Rainbow. I didn't have it and had never really seen it, so I had no idea. Now that I have it I can say yes, they're totally alike. Red/yellow/orange/gold/green opalescent flakes in a clear base. Amazing for layering.
I don't really care for the formula or the brushes on these, but the colors are fantastic. I mean, look at them! There's no denying that they're amazing! And how cool would it be if they took Holographic and made versions of it in every color of the rainbow? It's like the old Sally Hansen Magical Nail Makeup colors that I love so much. They should totally do more holo shades, they're obviously good at it.
Unrelated to nail polish, but GOSH also makes this incredible superfine holo glitter that can be layered or mixed into eyeshadow... I adore it. Why don't any American brands have something similar? I need more holo in my life... As much holo as one human can possible handle! I'd even wear this if Flake would lend it to me...

HOLY HOLOGRAPHIC, that is amazing. And I love Gasoline too. I'll have to pay attention next time I go shopping, I have the feeling I've seen Gosh polishes somewhere...and I want some!

ReplyDeleteGreen Dragon and Rainbow are no longer available unfortunately. As for the rest, I can buy these so easy (although quite expensive for a drugstore brand) but I totally dislike the formula, brrr, horrible, probably worst I've ever tried.

ReplyDeleteI've gotten the holographic one in a swap. I feel like it's the perfect holo, exept maybe the Nfu Ohs, that is currently available.
If H'graphic shows up on ebay, it is already going to be out the gate at a pretty "exciting" price!

Golden Dragon looks awesome! Never seen it before... I'm not fond of the formula of most Gosh polishes, but they have/had some great colours!

this is so strange! some of these colours i have never seen before! maybe they run out of them constantly where i go shopping. but like you said, i dont care much for the formula. i thought it would be a little bit ok since they are are about mid-priced, but they are not. rimmel is better. much!

ReplyDeleteGosh Cosmetics is at Duane Reade in NYC. It's a recent addition. I've only seen it at one of the ones with a beauty level. Thanks for the swatches, I'll have to re-visit the polish selection =)

I've got Golden Dragon, Gasoline, Holo(I had to pick up the second of the two because two weeks after I spied two and bought one, the second was still sitting gathering dust on the stand where I'd left it!! The holo didn't have much longevity though and chipped without a top coat. After I topped it, the effect practically disappeared. Did you top yours Scrangie?

ReplyDeleteWhen I read this a few days ago I made a note of Holographic and Gasoline for my wants list. Today I was in town (Cambridge UK) and went to a Superdrug - one I don't ever go in normally and found a recently restocked GOSH display. I picked up Gasoline, Holographic and Green Dragon (I have Rainbow already) and better yet they had a 3 for 2 deal on! I'm very pleased. Anyone in the UK should definitely check out Superdrug for their GOSH display...

ReplyDeleteI don't know where in the States you live, but if you're near the Canadian border, Gosh is readily available in Shoppers Drug Mart pharmacies (Pharmaprix in Québec).
Here I am in Canada, with easy access to GOSH and have never picked up one of their polishes...clearly, I will need to investigate more from this brand!
