I've really been digging the Fyrinnae lately and I've gotten a lot of requests to do a whole post on Fyrinnae, so what better time to swatch my entire Fyrinnae collection?
I know some of these are discontinued but I'm not entirely up to date on which are and which aren't. Sorry!
All of these are swatched over Fyrinnae Pixie Epoxy.
So, without further ado... My Fyrinnae collection. (Please don't forget to enlarge these to see all the great detail in these colors!)
First off, because I'm completely and utterly obsessed and infatuated with these, the Arcane Magics:
Love Potion, Velvet Vampire, Feline Familiars, Avian Shapeshifter, Pyromantic Erotica, Leopard Print Galaxy, Trickery, Greenman's Forest, Evocation.
Electric Stardust, Farseer, Warrior Mage, Dark Fantasy, Sorceress, Mystic, Faerie Glamour, Sequined Master, Healer's Touch, Conjurer.
These are all duochrome/color shifting. I tried to get as many shots as I could at different angles and different lights to show it- you can really see the color flip on the bottoms of the swatches, but I still didn't manage to capture the full glory of these. They're amazing. I need all of them. 100% awesome.
Some black-based (or dark based) colors with contrasting shimmer:
Avenging Salem, BBQ Sauce, Monarch Butterfly, Pumpkinfire, Dokkalfar, Fyre and Ice, Immortality.
Get a load of Immortality... have you ever seen anything like it? It's incredible. These make excellent eyeliners.
Some blues... I really don't have many blues, wow...
Bali Mynah, Digital Faerie, 1.22 Gigawatts, Sleepy Hollow, Strip Poker, Necromantic.
Some earthy colors:
Finnegan's Wake, Nijiro, Cheeky, Half-Elf Hottie, Envy Me, Species 8472, Equality, Beholder, Platinum.
Finnegan's Wake has become my go-to highlight color. And Equality is just beyond compare... They say it's the closest they can safely come to a true holographic shadow- check out all the rainbow prism sparkle!
Golds/metallics. They do golds really, really well:
Griffonrider, Vetala, Fool's Gold, Magic Missiles, Lucky Charmed, Gilded Wings, Shrouded in Gold, Aztec Gold, Newcastle.
Why are you casting Magic Missile? There's nothing to attack here! These are some of the smoothest and most pigmented of all the Fyrinnae shades. They go on like butter. And Aztec Gold? I could bathe in it.
The greens! I need more greens!
OMGWTF, Dragon's Wing, Dragonskin, Leif, Boytoy, Tyr, One Knight in Belfast, Dressed to Kill.
Some red and orange based shades:
Rapunzel Had Extensions, Runed Torc, Red Panda, Lust Bunnies, Cheetah, STFU, Lousy Tip, Sake and Sashimi.
Rapunzel Had Extensions is super duochrome. It's a must have. Very versatile. Sake and Sashimi has some great green sparkle in it, I like it together with MAC Old Gold.
Purples. Of course. I bleed purple. As always, these are more purple and less blue in real life:
Wicked, Chaotic Muse, Careless Memory, Meerkat, Lemmus Sibricus, Neo Universe, Changeling, Incubus.
Light, silvery shades:
Jade Ghost, Otherworld, Lights of Quebec City, Lights of Tokyo, Chrome, Mischief Makers, Atomic Afterglow, Damn Paladins.
Otherworld always makes me think of the song from FFX. It's great for layering over other colors to add green duochrome and sparkle- it's almost like my favorite Bare Escentuals Seashell color. Atomic Afterglow is super complex. And I love the name Damn Paladins. They have the best names.
These are the Hot Tempered Colors. I believe these are all discontinued, though :(
Bitchslap, Catfight, Sarcasm, Wrath, Corrosive, Homewrecker.
Whoa, bright. Neon mattes with just a hint of shimmer to reduce the chalkiness. These stain like a bitch but they're really fun to look at.
Some miscellaneous browns and mauves and a couple comparisons:
Fire Opal, Steampunk, Dark Magic (old), Dark Magic (new), Daemon's Tail, Samhain Spirits, Medieval Haunting, Arcane Magic Faerie Glamour (old), Arcane Magic Faerie Glamour (new).
I know a couple of the shades have been reformulated and as luck would have it, I have a couple old versions! Dark Magic is quite different but I can honestly say I much prefer the blue sparkle in the new version. Faerie Glamour is better, too- much more pigment and green duochrome sparkle.
Have I given you any lemmings? ;-)

ReplyDeleteMan, they are so vibrant and intense!
Totally double rainbow. ;D
Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaamn!
ReplyDeleteI've never heard of this brand prior to reading your post, but I really like it! The colors are gorgeous and the pigmentation is fantastic! Great post and swatches... thanks for sharing! :)
ReplyDeleteHow do you pronounce the name?
ReplyDeleteWow! I love all of these, and the golds and greens in particular. More shopping :).
ReplyDeleteWow what amazing dedication on your part for posting such awesome pics. Great job!
ReplyDeleteI feel a Fyrinnae order coming on... I was going to comment on a few shades but I forgot which ones. I got distracted looking at all the pretty colours!
ReplyDeletePeople who most beautiful colors, I loved your blog since I am his follower kisses
ReplyDeleteThe Arcane Magics are sooo awesome! I adore Love potion. And Yay that you have Digital Faerie and Sleepy Hollow! They're two of my favs. I need to nab Strip Poker. Wow Careless Memory is gorgeous. I <3 Faerie Glamour :)
ReplyDeleteImmortality! Its like someone bottled the night sky. incredible. i want like 10 tubs of it haha
ReplyDeleteI'm surprised you don't have Parental Advisory, it's a very pretty blue-toned purple. My friend bought a bunch of these, and I played around with them, but I haven't bought any of my own (mostly scared of the damage I would do if I made an order). My favorites are Aztec Gold, Rapunzel Had Extensions, and Equality. I also really like Chlorophyll, it's this gorgeous shimmery orange
ReplyDeleteI've been looking at Fyrinnae for a little while and think I'll order tonne of samples before I go bat-shit crazy on them.
ReplyDeleteOh, you have so many of my favorites! Aztec Gold is TDF. It was my first experience with Fyrinnae gold and I LOVE it. Definitely created more lemmings, and reinforced some that were already on my list like Steampunk, Newcastle, and BBQ Sauce. Just LOVE these guys!
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous post! I just received my first order (10 sample sizes) and have been having so much fun playing with them. Your post has convinced me, though, that I need to order some of the ones I wasn't originally too sure about. Your swatches are all so enticing :-)
ReplyDeleteYes! Too bad I ordered some of them yesterday. But maybe I will order again now that I have seen this post!
ReplyDeleteToo bad that the Hot Tempered Colors are discountinued! I'd love to have them!
"Have I given you any lemmings? ;-)"
ReplyDeleteAre you kidding me, last week I just placed my first order, because of you: http://www.scrangie.com/2010/08/eye-of-day-with-purple-and-orange.html
Now I have to order again!
I've known Fyrinnae for 3 years or something, but always prefered Pure Luxe, because they did way faster ship (me being international client) and their shopping cart worked much better. With Fyrinnae, I always had problems with the shopping cart or paypal or both, like the shopping cart wouldn't want to be friends with paypal or not add correctly *shrugs*
ReplyDeleteI always loved the Fyrinnean names, though ;) I once bought arcane magic and dragon's wing or dragonskin and some others I don't recall right now. One was called snow bunny, I think.
Later on I used to order at TheSheSpace a lot, once a month or something. Unfortunately, like Aromaleigh, Heather closed her shop and is now doing a different and smaller version of it.
If I win the lottery one day or marry rich *grins* I'm gonna open my own mineral make-up store with alllll those matte and shimmery and glittery eyeshadows and I'm gonna create a lot of special editions and at least one Halloween collection per year ;)) And I'm gonna use names like Fyrinnae or Archetypecosmetics do. They're just too cool.
And there will be a special Srangie collection with duochromes *g* and purple *g* and purple duochromes *g* and glowing-in-the-dark-purples *gg*
Ahhh somebody give me money ^^ teehee.
Still, I would if I could.
WOW :D Nice collection! I love Fyrinnae pigments, just got more today :D
ReplyDeleteNea/ Fashioned in Finland
I am lemming them all. Sooo beautiful. Especially the black bases with the contrasting glitter...and randomly, the one called Newcastle. Which is funny as that's my husband's football team. What better reason to make a purchase?!
ReplyDeleteWhoa, that’s a full rainbow all the way. Double rainbow, oh my god. It’s a double rainbow, all the way. Whoa that’s so intense. Whoa man! Wow! Whoa! Whoa! Whoa ho ho oh my god! Oh my god! Oh my god! Woo! Oh wow! Woo! Yeah! Oh ho ho! Oh my god! Oh my god look at that! It’s starting even to look like a triple rainbow! Oh my god it’s full on! Double rainbow all the way across the sky! Oh my god. Oh my god. Oh god. What does this mean? Oh. Oh my god. Oh. Oh. God. It’s so bright, oh my god it’s so bright and vivid! Oh. Ah! Ah! It’s so beautiful! Oh my god. Oh my god. Oh my god! Oh my god, it’s a double complete rainbow! Oh right in my front yard. [Laughter] Oh my god. Oh my god, what does it mean? Tell me. Too much. I don’t know what it means. Oh my god it’s so intense. Oh. Oh. Oh my god.
ReplyDeleteWhoa! Major swatching going on there! Lots of pretty stuff!
ReplyDeleteWOW lots of stuff! They're very pretty, thank you!
ReplyDeleteSo awesome!! I have been making a huge list of what I want from Fyrinnae, this is so helpful!
ReplyDeleteAwesome!!!
ReplyDeleteI have to get some one of these days.....
Ahhhh! I want to place an order so badly, but they have it disabled...maybe your post inspired and ordering frenzy and backed them up? :) I made a big wish list and will try again later.
ReplyDeleteFYI... you can make some AWESOME frankens with Fyrinnae shadows! I've made several myself :) the Arcane Magic ones are especially fantastic for that!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Scrangie.
ReplyDeleteNow my nail polish budget has been relocated to Fyrinnae. :P
These are gorgeous colors. I'm at their site now and about to blow a lot of money on their eyeshadows. One question, is the Pixie Epoxy a must, or would UD Primer Potion do the same trick?
ReplyDeleteThanks for the recs, everyone! I'm making a new wishlist :D
ReplyDeleteMythiceuphoria, It's not quite like Primer Potion- it's really sticky so it makes glitters and shimmer stay on well. I'd at least recommend trying a sample of it! Though I have better luck using the shadows wet over a regular primer than using the Pixie Epoxy
Thanks! I'm full of questions today. I love your blog, just never had time to comment. :)
ReplyDeleteWOW, these are amazing! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteAre these swatches applied wet or dry?
(I'm a new reader - - I found your blog while Googling China Glaze's 2008 'Rodeo Diva' collection. Great stuff you've got here!)
