Sephora Kat Von D Adora Palette Fall 2010
Super quick swatches, luckily the sun was still up this time!
The whole palette. Click to enlarge!
The best part of the palette. Glitter. Ace of Spades and Oddfellow. Not color accurate on Ace of Spades- it's too washed out in this photo. It is a rich red-based purple with lots of shimmer. Like Nars Purple Rain in eyeshadow form.
Swatches:
Left half of the palette. Albino, which is a bright white silver. Holy Bible which is a slightly darker blue-toned silver, Slayer which is a metallic silver cream shadow (and sorry for the chunk, didn't realize how melted it was and accidentally took out half the shadow!) and Glock, a metallic grey (with an awesome name.) If I recall correctly, Slayer and Glock are both in previous palettes.
Right half. Crucifix, a black cream shadow, might make a good eyeliner. Bloodletting, a burgundy-red shimmer cream shadow which would probably make a better lipstick than an eyeshadow, Ace of Spades, a red-based purple with lots of glittery shimmer and Oddfellow, a black matte base with tons of blue-teal-green-silver glitter.
I haven't used this yet, but so far the pigmentation doesn't seem as good as previous palettes. Will report back with pictures when I've done a full test run!
Bleh, the consistancy looks weird on them. The darker colours look pretty cool. Might need eye pics for better opinion. :P
ReplyDeleteThat is a LOT of silvers/whites for one palette! I've been LIVING by my Kat Von D True Romance Ludwig palette, so I'd be open to buying another of hers, but I hope the quality isn't going downhill!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the pictures of this palette! I tried to hunt it down at Sephora, but they didn't have it yet last week. I love the colours, but I still have to see it in person. I need to see whether or not it contains bismuth oxychloride. Unfortunately, this is an ingredient that I'm allergic to. :(
ReplyDeletethe colors remind me of the promotional essie collection for the addams family musical http://www.theaddamsfamilymusicalstore.com/Morticias-nails.html
ReplyDeleteThanks for posting this Scrangie! I wish it didn't have three creme shadows - the consistency of those are terrible for me. Those darker colors are lovely though and I'm sure they'll look stellar on you!!
ReplyDeleteOh, I do hope this turns out to be a good one on closer inspection...This is the first of her palettes that I HAD to have. Mine was shipped on the 8th and tracking was never updated so I have no idea where it is now.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the pictures! Can't wait for a full review!
I don't wear eye makeup, but really like some of those shades. Can't wait to see them on you. But the things I really want to see are what colours of Lorac Multiplex you got, and what they look like! :D
ReplyDeleteI love her Ludwig palette. I wear it all the time. I really like the colors in this one, but hearing that it was half cream shadows was a HUGE turn off for me. I had bought the True Love palette and the one cream in the there dried up so quickly. Very disappointing.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to hear your thoughts once you try it. :D
ReplyDeleteOh my god, I've been lemming this palette since it came out online! I can't find it in stores yet though, so I caved and bought Metal Orchestra instead. =( I really like Bloodletting, Ace of Spades, and Oddfellow, but I'm not so sure anymore. I still love how the palette looks and I'd probably buy one anyway if it weren't for the pricetag. I'm going to have to consider now....*flail*
ReplyDeleteI wish this didn't have so many cream shadows! I don't use them as often and they always dry up on me after like 2 times. I love her pressed shadows though. With Glock being a dupe f/ a the Metal Orchestra Palette that would make this one only 4 new shadows for me :( I want it only to complete my collection, which is just sad LOL I'll probably wait until Sephora F&F this fall to pic it up if I do at all. Bummer!
ReplyDeleteWhy more creme shadows!? I don't use them. I love Kat Von D's other palettes. I will probably get this one anyway.
