China Glaze Kaleidoscope collection. One of the best collections to ever be released. Nothing beats holographic polishes, and China Glaze Kaleidoscope polishes are at the top of my list of favorites.
Onto the swatches! As always, I leave these pictures huge intentionally- please click in the images to view them in full size.
Don't Be A Square. Medium pink holo.
He's Going In Circles. Light seafoam green holo.
How About A Tumble? Light purple holo.
It's My Turn. Gold holo.
Kaleidoscope Him Out. Light blue holo.
Let's Do It In 3-D. Charcoal-black holo.
Octa-Gone Wild. Purple holo.
Sexagon. Silver holo.
Spin Me Round. Bronze/tan holo.
Tickle My Triangle. Hot pink/fuchsia holo.
Visit Me In Prism. Silvery lilac holo.
Agh! I'm still missing one!! Rated Holographic is missing! I will add it once I find it. I just bought a new one, too!
The formula on these is top notch. It's thin and manageable, and it dries faster than any polish I've ever used. Lightning fast. All are sheer on the first coat, and all look best with two to three coats.
The main difference between the Kaleidoscopes and the OMGs is the size of the holographic particles. The Kaleidoscopes have larger particles and the holographic effect isn't as smooth and linear as the OMGs. They may look like glitter, but these polishes aren't glittery at all. They're completely smooth, no chunks, no grit.
This collection has been discontinued, so I would highly recommend picking these up before they disappear completely.
Up next, China Glaze OMG collection swatches!

Thanks so much for these pictures! I love holographics too. They make me so excited! I have 8 of them and you make me want to get all of them!
ReplyDeleteI just bought all of these. I love these. This and the OMG collection are my faves. I love China Glaze :)
ReplyDeleteEvery time I see this collection, the little part of my hindbrain that's attracted to sparkly stuff goes "Eeeeeeeeee!". I'm snagging at least two of those shades before they are gone. Scrangie you are destroying my no more nail polish will power!
ReplyDeleteHi Scrangie:
ReplyDeleteI think I have half of this collection. Because of your pictures I must get the rest! I now have way more China Glaze than my used to be favorite OPI. Nail polish is my new obsession. I always love your photos and beautiful nails. Thanks and Happy New Year.
<swoons> Can you or anyone else tell me where to get these? These make the Sally Hansen Magical ones look lame.
ReplyDeleteWow, Tickle My Triangle is just gorgeous! I was never a girl that liked pink until this year, but now I'm finding myself drawn to bright colors like that.
ReplyDeleteHead2ToeBeauty.com still has them!
ReplyDeleteCan anyone tell me where these polishes are available? I can't find them anywhere except for in the 2006 archives on chinaglaze.com. HELP Pleasee!!
ReplyDeleteAnonymous, you're welcome! I love them all :)
ReplyDeleteBrooke, yay!! Me too :)
HoneyHoneyNY, hahaha same here! At least these are inexpensive :) Not like those Chanel Moscow ones I've vowed not to buy, lol
Lucy, thank you so much! This is a great collection for sure!
Danielle_a_k, you can get them at 8ty8beauty.com, head2toebeauty.com, transdesign.com or Ulta. I love the Sally Hansen ones the most! :D
Phyrra, me too! I would never wear pink (besides neon) but now I have dozens, what happened?! lol
Tara, thanks for posting! :D
Trisha, you can find them at some Ultas, 8ty8beauty.com, head2toebeauty.com or transdesign.com :)
Dammit Scrangie!!! I want more of these now. I like these way more than the OMG collection.
ReplyDeleteI need to get some of them before they are gone! 8ty8 next!!!
ReplyDeleteAH, my bottles of Kaleidoscopes arrived today to join my Visit Me in Prism family! I have about 15 bottles of VMiP because it is SO fantastic!
ReplyDeleteThey are all lined up in a row with my untrieds. The next sunny day is going to bling. Woohoo!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness that looks fabulous!! I MUST go buy a few! Lovely nails!
ReplyDeleteGreat Pics Scrangie! I JUST got Octa Gone Wild and Let's Do It In 3-D! I have to say I like the OMG collection more, but they're really 2 totally different things. They're both awesome for what they do.
ReplyDeleteI am a little paranoid though that they're gonna dissappear from online... so what others in this collection (besides OGW and LDIi3D) do you suggest? (Especially for a purple lover?)
Hee! I just happened to be wearing Sexagon this week! Such an awesome, gorgeous color! And the formula was such a pleasure to work with! Love your pictures, I just may have to grab some more of these!
ReplyDeleteThis collex is totally awesome! Why on earth is it to be discontinued? I don't get it! I mean look at those beauties!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the pictures! I don't have any of these polishes. I feel an mini-haul coming on!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year!
Hi Scrangie,
ReplyDeleteI love the heading of your blog! It's very witty and original.
I heard from Stephanie of Polish Addict that you have Cozu-Melted in the Sun. Could you do a swatch of that?
Thanks.
You're such a doll to post these; thank you!!
ReplyDeleteNow I'm totally convinced I need to order them all( well, almost all :)) before they are discontinued. I've never seen anything like this collection (and the OMG coll.)
I really adore your blog (and your nails!), keep up the good work!
Hugs!!
/Helena
I'm in love with kaleidoscope!! I should a few of the whole collection and keep them. I'm so afraid they are gonna be discontinued!
ReplyDeleteMaybe i should try the OMG collection too! Which do you love more Scrangie, OMG or Kaleidoscope?
Once again you have hit the nail on the head with these photos. Oooh girrrllll! I think I could have each one of these.
ReplyDeleteNina, aren't they wonderful? Get them while you can!
ReplyDeleteLina, you will *love* them :)
GoldenAnkh, my kinda girl :) Holo rules!!
Tarotbydiana, oooooh once you try them you might get hooked :D
Princess Crystal, thank you! They are wonderful and unique polishes :)
MariahGem, get them before they're gone! Honestly, I love all of them... Kaleidoscope Him Out is excellent if you don't have it!
Courtney, awe thank you :) Sexagon is always my go-to polish when I need something special!
Sanna, I know, right?!?! All the good stuff gets discontinued :(
Casey, thank you and happy new year to you as well :) You need to try at least one of these before they disappear, they are so fabulous!
Anonymous, thank you so much :) I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks it's witty, hehe. I do have that polish and I'll definitely do a full-hand swatch for you! In the meantime, I have a one-finger swatch of it compared to other colors up on NailGal :)
Helena, thank you thank you thank you! You are too kind! These are definitely must haves for any collection!
Fleur Beauty, they are already discontinued so get them while you can!! I love both Kaleidoscope and OMG, but if I had to choose, I'd go with Kaleidoscope :)
Denny, awwwwe thank you so much! They are *all* fantastic!!
Scrangie,
ReplyDeleteHave you tried these with Konad? As the stamping polish and as the polished being stamped over.
How did it turn out?
Thanks!
Ingrid, I have! Unfortunately, they don't really work as the stamping polish because they're a little too thin, but they look really good stamped over :)
ReplyDeletegah! i just recently got back into nail polish and ive been reading the hell out of your blog and nail polish addicts blog for swatches and making my shopping lists. thanks so much for feeding into my newest addiction :)
ReplyDeleteWow I love these! I'm from Malaysia, so CG polishes aren't that readily available. Tried to order from a spree but already discontinued. Lucky for me I came across a tiny shop at the back of a mall where some were available! :D
ReplyDeleteTry layering 2 coats of Tickle my Triangle over a coat of Emotion. Gives the holo-glitter a wonderful depth! :D
Gosh you have such lovely nails!
ReplyDeleteIts so frustrating, I live in New Zealand and have been utterly unsuccesful in hunting down any China Glaze stockists. If that wasn't bad enough, I've never seen the OPI Designer Series. ANYWHERE. Not even in Smith and Caugheys. Found only one color club nailpolish which was a dirty mustard yellow...alas...
