At last, Yasmeen is gone and I have the astonishingly beautiful Nfu Oh polishes I've been dreaming about since I first saw them.
The formula is not without flaws; it's thick and goopy (must be 3-free!) and smells kinda weird. Otherwise, these polishes are perfect. They have depth, iridescence, glow, fire, shimmer, all that good stuff.
Here are the ones I chose:
49. Very blah on its own. A subtle yellow/gold/green/red opal shimmer. Looks much better over black.
44. Very nice deep orange opal with green reflection.
45. The fire polish! It's a rich, vibrant red/orange with incredible orange flake shimmer that looks like burning, glowing embers.
51. It has many faces- blue, purple, red, green, gold. It's mesmerizing and truly stunning. My pictures do not do this polish justice.
52. Dark blue/green/purple opal. Again, my pictures can not accurately convey how beautiful this is.
53. Blue with purple/red/gold opal flakes. Reminds me of mermaids.
55. Bleh. This color looks dull, flat and lifeless. Green with gold flakes.
56. This is a deep green with blue reflection and complex shimmer.
57. Another blah color. Pale green with red and gold flakes.
60. A masterpiece of polish. My pictures can't capture it, but this is a rainbow in a bottle. It shimmers and reflects every color of the rainbow, as you can see in the bottle. It has an oil-slick look to it.
66. Seafoam green holographic polish. Dries matte. I don't think I like this one.
Various colors over black. The black just makes the opal glitter flakes POP. It's a really cool effect.
I'm so happy to be able to swatch again! I have plenty coming up, including the Ulta Exclusive Essies!

Those are gorgeous, and I love the shape of your nails. I'm trying to grow mine out. Where did you get these?
ReplyDeleteClaire, thanks! I got these from a nail supplier in New Zealand!
ReplyDeleteI think this is my first time leaving a comment here but your blog ROCKS! Seriously it's the best nail blog on earth! Loves your swatches and every time I am going to place an order, I always check out your pics first.
ReplyDeleteWow, thank you so much Karen! That makes me so happy to hear :)
ReplyDeleteNew Zealand?!?! Where? lol I truly am shocked, how much did they cost?
ReplyDeleteTabe-chan, apparently Welcome Bay, Tauranga. (I'm not sure exactly where that is!!) I ordered online through nznailacademy.co.nz. They were about $10 USD each (I splurged a bit, lol)
ReplyDelete:D
Entries like this totally help me become a more efficient nail polish shopper. :D *points briskly* I want that (51), that (52), that(56) and that(60). The oil-slicky, opally goodness of the Nfu Ohs are enough to make me overlook the tacky bottle, so I'll have to hunt some down when I move to Australia next month. Thanks for the swatches!
ReplyDeleteShyrh, hehe glad to be of service! :D Hahaha, I love the tacky bottle- it's so over-the-top kooky and filled with glitter, I can't help but like it! All it needs is a pink feather boa! 51, 52, 56 and 60 are definitely the best out of the bunch! :D
ReplyDeleteOhh :( I want these... They look sooo pretty!:)
ReplyDeleteGef, they are really nice. You should check eBay or try perhaps ordering from nznailacademy.co.nz!
ReplyDeleteMust. Have. 51. and. 60.
ReplyDeleteSeriously. Thank you a million times over for posting!!! These are all sorts of beautiful!
Grace, you are very welcome! They are gorgeous, aren't they?
ReplyDeleteI came upon your blog through a series of other sites and have been a faithful visitor for the last month or so. You always have the best scoops on products and your swatches are amazing. I have NEVER seen anything like these polishes. Gosh, thank you for sharing. I might have to splurge and get one myself.
ReplyDeleteI love those shiny opals! I'm waiting for a whole bunch myself, it's going to be heaven when they arrive! :)
ReplyDeleteAzia, wow, thank you so much! That makes me so happy to hear :D I love my readers, they're the best!! :D
ReplyDeleteSara, I'm so excited for you! These are really something special!
Wohooo! Gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteAfter seeing these amazing swatches I know which babies are calling my name:) I already have the #51 and I love it! This year I'm kinda happy that my birthday is in november, because it's raining gorgeous polishes and I wonder when or if it'll start raining money:)
My my my... Oh my! OH MY! I'm going crazy over here! I really need some of these, and they looked fantastic over black. LOVING IT I NEED THEM! I guess I have to apply for an account NZNA even though I don't have completed any nail technician courses or anything, bah. :o
ReplyDeleteMy my my!! Thanks so much for the fantastic pics Scrangie! I have ordered 12 shiny opals last week, can't wait to get mine!
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm with Karen, your blog is the best nail blog ever! I bet you've got a huge group of loyal reader and we're here to stay!
TK
Such incredible beauties! Oh my! *drool*:P
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures! I am going to have to cave and order some of the blues and greens.
ReplyDeleteWere these like typical MAC glitter polishes in that you really had to rub your nails to remove them?

ReplyDeleteScrangie, I have to warn you: my credit card is conspiring with my debit card to hire a hit man for you.
ReplyDeleteAwesome swatches!
Sanna, I wish it would rain money :D Happy (in November) birthday! :D
ReplyDeleteChaosophia, I'm sure they'll let you buy the polishes- if you send them an email about it they'll approve you :D
TK, I don't know what to say :D :D :D Thank you SO much! That makes my day!
Badbomben, I am mesmerized by them! I think more companies should release polish like this!
Dramaqueenie2, they were pretty easy to remove- not like the typical glitter polish. The only problem is that the flakes are so smooth and thin, some of them stick to your nail and skin and you can't tell until the light hits it!
Masa_inn, LMAOOOO! I better watch out :D Thanks!
Amazing.. if I had just those I could do without almost any other polish. I understood the shipping was salty, and I probably would have to pay taxes here for those.. but omgomgomg. omg. O M G.
ReplyDeleteMizzx, yeah it was a bit of an ordeal and the shipping was steep, but they're so worth it!
ReplyDeleteWow these are truly unique, me wants!
ReplyDeleteAnd love your blog as well :)
Sunce, thank you so much! :D
ReplyDeleteOh Scrangie...your lovely, colorful pics cause me to spend so much money!! LOVE the Nfu's on you!
ReplyDeleteAw, thanks Ponchy! We can be the most well manicured ladies in the poorhouse :D lol
ReplyDeleteWOW... just WOOOOW!
ReplyDeleteI think this must be one of the most beautiful NOTDs I´ve ever seen.
Dropdead gorgeous nails and incredible nail polish!
Thank you so much, Angela! they are definitely the coolest polishes in my collection :D
ReplyDeleteYour pics are AWESOME!!!! Thank you so much for featuring these. I knew you'd do them justice!! YOU ROCK!!!!
ReplyDeleteSiennaX, thank you so much! I'm so glad you like my pics! :D
ReplyDeleteOutstanding all of them, absolutely wonderful!!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Linda, they're super-cool aren't they? :D

ReplyDeleteThanks for the tempting pictures, as always!
Sminkan, you're very welcome! :-)
ReplyDeleteCompletely in love. Sooo beautiful.
ReplyDeleteLiz, me too :D
ReplyDeleteI missed your blog so much while I was on holiday! :) But I think you might be bad for my bank balance :P
ReplyDeleteGoodness me these Nfu Oh polishes are the most gorgeous polishes I've ever seen!! As a true addict I'm currently trying to locate these on the internet as I'm not a nail professional. I neeeeeed 51 and 60! :)
OMG those are amazing :O And I rarely use the oh-em-gee abbraviation...but they look so great on you!
ReplyDeleteLina-Elvira, the New Zealand Nail Academy will let you order without a license if you email them ahead of time :D
ReplyDeleteTiffany, thanks!! They ARE amazing!! :D
Hi Scrangie! These polishes are AMAZING! They are $10 each? How much was shipping to the US? If it is reasonable I am going to think about placing an order. What colors would you recommend getting for me? I only like wearing pinks, reds, oranges, corals, and that is about it, nothing bold or crazy. While the other colors are gorgeous, I could never pull off them while treating patients LOL. So which ones should I get? I really hope shipping was not much more than $10 lol.
ReplyDeleteHi beautylover! Yes, they were around $10 each, but I'm sorry to say that the shipping was very pricey- $30 without tracking, and $40 with tracking!
ReplyDeleteAs for recommendations, is it a creme or shimmer color you're looking for, or do you want these flaky "shiny opal" polishes?
I don't have any of the regular colors (I only have the Shiny Opal kind) , so I'm not too sure which colors I'd recommend - perhaps 30, 33, 109, 111, 103 or 82 might be what you're looking for. Also, be sure to check Makeup Alley's nail board for swatches and color charts :)
Have you purchased any new NFU-Oh's???? I know a lot of people are getting them from an ebay seller now. I love your swatches so I am holding off on any purchases until I see more of them.
ReplyDeleteHi Azia! No, I haven't purchased any new Nfus, but I was thinking about getting some! I haven't seen the ebay seller, I may have to check them out :)
ReplyDeleteHiya!
ReplyDeleteI saw your swatches and knew I had to order some of these nfu.oh polishes.
I ordered:
45 - the one you dubbed fire polish
52 - dark blue with green purple and opal
57 - acid green with red and gold flakes
60 - opalescent black with red flakes
125 - chartreuse green with olive micro shimmer
I'm thinking of ordering:
59 - a magenta pink color with pink flake
51 - purple with blue red gree and gold flakes
56 - deep green with blue flakes
The nice seller on ebay who is selling these polishes is fabulous_nails, and she's great about responding to any questions you have about them. She is currently selling them for about $8.50 a bottle and $8.50 for shipping for under 7 bottles.
In case you haven't seen it, I found the Nfu.Oh blog that has color swatches of all colors: http://nfuohproduct.blogspot.com/
Anyways, I wanted to say thank you for having your swatches up! You and Polish Pixie really helped me decide on which colors I wanted to order.
Phyrra, AWESOME!! Thank you so much! I think I might get some more of these!
ReplyDeleteYou know, your post got me on fire - and I ordered like 12 different Nfu.OH-laquers instantly! I L-O-V-E your pictures, they're just fantastic. Thanks a lot for sharing. :)
ReplyDeleteShamini, thank you!! :D I'm actually working on better pictures of these, so stay tuned :D
ReplyDeleteI checked out the ebay seller and these still come with a price tag. I...love these! I just wish they were a bit cheaper.
ReplyDeleteAwe hell. I really just need a 2nd job to support my polish fetish.
Amber
...the ebay seller upped the polish price to $12.50!! :(
ReplyDeleteI am completely in love with your site and adore these swatches which I found through a google search.
ReplyDeleteHaven't bit the bullet and bought any of these yet but can get a similar effect to No. 60 by layering Gosh nail varnish Rainbow over black. Its the only opal nail varnish I've ever seen in a shop - flashes orange gold/green in different lights.
I really really want No's 51 and 52 though!
If there somebody from the EU, You can check www.viis.ee
ReplyDeleteOfficial Nfu.Oh distributor over Baltic region
Mouthwash, if you email Fabuloustreet.com to set up an account, they will give you a discount :)
ReplyDeleteFairyd123, thank you!! :) I have seen pictures of that GOSH polish, it is beautiful!
Viis, thanks!
I just discovered this post and I must say that these are the greatest swatches ever! I bookmarked this page and keep coming back to ogle it :)
ReplyDeleteI plan to order #52 and have a question. How many coats did you have to do to achieve that color? And that's just it by itself, not layered?
Thanks again!!
Legra, awwwe thank you! I am pretty sure it is three coats, it could be four... It's definitely not layered with anything else :)
ReplyDeleteThose look amazing! Just when I thought I couldn't possibly need any more nail polishes...
ReplyDeleteAmber_j, they really are amazing though :D
ReplyDeleteWoW amazing! I was glued to them because I never seen polishes like this!! I will have to look for it online!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much!
Your Site ROCKS!! It is so informative and helpful with lots of your beautiful nails!! Big up to you!!
i have seen so many swatches of these polishes but yours are absolutely the best! i love your nails they are so pretty!
ReplyDeleteI love your site, and I always check it before I buy new polish. Since I ahve over 100 polishes lets just say I check your site alot, keep up the good work!
ReplyDeleteI love polishes with flakies. I just wish these were less expensive. 60 looks like SH Hidden Treasure over a black creme.
ReplyDeleteI've just found a salon about three buss stops from my house that has all the Nfu Oh Opals and Holos.
ReplyDelete*hyperventilating*
They're 7 Euros each, and I can't really afford them, but your swatches are making me WANT.
Before I go and bankrupt myself, I really wanted to ask
a) what is the wear time on these?
b) how bumpy are the Opals?
Hey, I found your blog while looking for NFU OH Flakies n°52 and I love the way it turned on your nails. I would like to know how many coats you put to achieve that look and if you put a base color first to achieve the exact colour's bottle?
ReplyDeleteThank you.
Have a nice day.
